Fertilizers, Govt. of India is fully devoted to Academic, Technology Support, Research & Development activities in the area

of Plastics Engineering and Technology.

CIPET offers the entire gamut of Academic Programmes ranging from Diploma, Post Diploma, Post Graduate & Doctoral

programmes with varying level of entry qualifications. The regular long-term academic programmes of CIPET are basically

designed in line with the needs of the industry with more emphasis on practical training in the field of Plastics Engineering

and Technology. The Under Graduate, Post Graduate & Ph.D. programmes are offered at 4 High Learning centres viz,

Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chennai and Lucknow.

CIPET renders Technology Support Services in Design, Tooling, Processing, Testing & Quality Assurance for the benefit of

Plastics and allied Industries. The services are well utilized by the plastics industry for their growth and prosperity. The

organizations like Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Ordnance Factory

Board (OFB), Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) are few of the major Public Sector and Govt. organizations

recognized CIPET as their prospective vendor for precision tooling and Mould & Product development. The Plastics

Testing Centre is one of the best testing facilities in Asia and the laboratory is accredited by NABL. CIPET is the first Govt.

of India organisation in the country to get NABCB Accreditation as per ISO/IEC 17020 in the field of Plastics as type - A

inspection body for pre –delivery inspection services.

The vision of two Research & Development Wings – Advanced Research School for Technology & Product Simulation

(ARSTPS) at Chennai and Laboratory for Advanced Research in Polymeric Materials (LARPM) at Bhubaneswar have

been conceived with objectives of transforming CIPET as a Global Research Centre on Polymeric Materials as well as a

resource centre for newer concept development & conversion of concept into reality by product development on

commercial scales. Technology transfers, Creation of Intellectual Property (CIP), knowledge base with validated

documentation are the key aspects of functioning of these R&D Wings.
