In this spirit we recall the words of Pope John Paul II, who proclaimed, 'The Church hears the suffering cry of all who are uprooted from their own land, of families forcefully separated, of those who, in the rapid changes of our day, are unable to find a stable home anywhere. She senses the anguish of those without rights, without any security, at the mercy of every kind of exploita on, and she supports them in their unhappiness' (Message for World Migra on Day 2000, no. 6). Challenge Ques on: How does this call to stand in "solidarity" with migrants and refugees, inform my own conscience when considering the ac ons of those in power in our Country, who are charged with making policy that directly impacts these very same people?
