I initially developed an on-line procurement toolkit which provides guidance on the key stages of a procurement process for guidance to staff across the authority including partners and which is now available via the intranet.
I have a good standard of literacy and numeracy, which is of benefit when preparing Contract documentation and financial analysis of returned tenders. .

Please see below recent quotes from my adult services line manager (who has since become a Procurement Lead within the Strategic Procurement Team) within my mid term appraisal during my previous secondment within Islington Council between April 2009 – April 2011 and with further e mails.
“Chris has undertaken a number of procurement projects since starting his secondment. He has taken responsibility for advising PCT and Social Services commissioners on procurement options and is continually researching to ensure his advice is current and up to date. Commissioners have confidence in his abilities and knowledge and Chris has established good working relationships which have enabled him to work with them collaboratively to meet key deadlines and objectives.”
“Chris represents the team on Project Boards and advises clearly on the process from planning stage through to contract award and advising successful and unsuccessful bidders.”
“He is very efficient when using and advising on the e-procurement system. Chris will face a challenge on the Learning Disability tender of 17 services where deadlines and timescales are critical to manage. His strong organisational abilities and knowledge of the procedure will be key in achieving the best outcomes.”
“Chris is very good at pitching his communication style to the particular audience. He worked well with the service user representative to ensure he understood and contributed to the evaluation process in a positive way.”
“Chris is an excellent team member and has been supportive to new members. He is supporting a new Procurement Officer to introduce him into Islington Council’s procurement policy and practice. He is guiding him through the drafting of key procurement documentation and the e-procurement system.”
“Chris has built up professional working relationships with PCT and Social Services Commissioners and other stakeholders and he is well respected by his peers. He covers for colleagues as necessary, sickness, annual leave and has been extremely helpful supporting staff in the e-procurement system.”
“Chris has been very proactive in generating new ideas. He has contributed ideas to the team meetings and has explored options for future procurement options relating to the Personalisation agenda. He has built contacts with other authorities to share forward plans and ideas for future collaboration.”
Email dated 16 th July 2010 from Ann Graham Head of Procurement (Contracts, Procurement and Performance Team)
“You play a positive role in the team and I know have been very supportive to colleagues and myself in continuing to develop an efficient and effective procurement function”
“I am only pleased that you will be staying in the team anyway until March so we can continue our mutually beneficial arrangement”
