Choice Organic Teas is committed to providing high quality teas and honoring their traditions while continuing to lead the tea industry towards more social and environmental sustainability with thoughtfully produced, innovative products and packaging.

Our HistoryParent company, Granum, Inc. was founded in 1980 as an importer and distributor of natural, organic, and macrobiotic foods in Seattle.

With the successful introduction of Choice Organic Teas in 1989, Granum, Inc. became, and remains, a major force in the development and growth of the organic and Fair Trade Certified™ tea market with national distribution throughout the natural foods market.

For twenty years, Granum, Inc. has been sourcing fine organic teas from around the globe, building a worldwide network of direct relationships with tea growers and suppliers of related materials.

Many tea companies outsource their packing, often outside the country. Choice Organic Teas is one of the few tea crafters that packs its own tea in the U.S.

Our diversified business includes our own brand as well as co-packing clients.

FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED™The first Fair Trade Certified™ teas in North America (2001). Instrumental in Fair Trade USA decision to pursue Fair Trade certification process for the tea industry and helped establish the guidelines.

NON-GMO VERIFIEDFirst tea crafter to enroll in Non-GMO Project (2009).

WIND POWERSince 2003, 100% of our facility’s energy usage has been offset  by renewable energy certificates (RECs) from wind power to support clean energy development.
