There are many Tara teachings in Vajrayana, and this Chime Phagma Nyingtik is one of the most treasured Arya Tara teachings. It is connected to the three most important Vidyadharas of maha-ati or Dzogchen—Vimalamitra, Shri Singha and Guru Padma-sambhava. Arya Tara is generally considered to be a deity of protection and white Arya Tara in particular is also associated with longevity.
