“In me, they saw hope”Manuel Gonzales (Rescuer)

"What ended up as a real blessing from God started as a possible tragedy. But the unity, the faith, the compromise, the honesty, the solidarity of the Chileans in those 69 days makes us very proud,"

Chilean President Miguel Juan Sebastián Piñera Echenique

"I was with God, and I was with the devil, But God won, I held onto God's hand, the best hand, and at no point in time … did I doubt that God wouldn't get me out of there."

Sepulveda (Miner )

“We had a boss … everyday he would tell us we had to be strong … we didn’t have hope. Strength comes from internal energy and prayer … I never used to pray, here I learned to pray. I got closer to God.”

Villarroel (Miner )

“There are actually 34 of us, because God has never left us down here.”Jimmy Sanchez (Miner )

We also rejoice in our sufferings, because We know that suffering produces endurance; endurance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us. (Rom 5:4-5)

Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for and hope for and expect the Lord! Psalm 31: 24

In search of material happiness?• (11) Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against

the wiles of the devil. • (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,

against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

• (13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

• (14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

• (15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;• (16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to

quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. • (17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is

the word of God: while using your loins of defeating the devil • (18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and hi

watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Psalm 3:3-6But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people. Who have set themselves against me all around.

Psalm 18:1-3,28,35I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and myfortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.For You will light my lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great.

Psalm 23:1-4The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 27:3,5,13-14Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

Psalm 28:7The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 62:1-2Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalm 91:1-2; Psalm 91:14-16He who dwells in the secret place of the Most HighShall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation."

Psalm 38:4-6, 9;15-18;21-22For my iniquities have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds are foul and festering Because of myfoolishness. I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You.

For in You, O LORD, I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God. For I said, "Hear me, lest they rejoice over me,Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me." For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me. For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin.

Do not forsake me, O LORD;O my God, be not far from me! Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!

Isaiah 41:10,13-14Fear thou not; for I {am} with thee: be not dismayed; for I {am} thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'" Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you," says the LORD And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

Psalm 27:1The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
