Reflection• What can the authorities do to
prevent child labour?• A way to prevent Child labour is to donate money
so that a child can have an education. Another one is to build a home for the children. In there they will not be allowed to work, but only to learn! There they will have a chance to have a better life. After all they are our future generation.
• Law: governments, workers' and employers' organizations committed to eliminating the worst forms of child labour, including hazardous work, by 2016. In 2010, the international community has adopted the Roadmap for Achieving the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour by 2016, which highlights the predominance of child labour in agriculture.
Reflection• FAO's work strengthening families' ability to
earn decent incomes, food availability and nutrition helps empower families to send their children to school rather than to work.
