Until There’s A Cure is a national organization dedicated to eradicating HIV/AIDS by raising awareness and funds to combat this pandemic. Their dream is that no one else will become infected by AIDS, and their goal is to fund preven-tion education, care services, and vaccine development.

From proceeds to couture dona-tions, Chic Fashion Week brings a level of philanthropy to fashion week unlike the city has ever seen before.

San Francisco Chic Fashion Week and Helium Magazine have come together to kick off the week with two big firsts: the start and rebirth of a fashion week in San Francisco. True to supperclub’s style, this event will include a multi-media fashion show featuring Bacca Da Silva. Guests are encouraged to don their blue in support of the new website which will be going live during the fashion show. Dinner guests can expect to be entertained with live performances and hair styling by Salon Blu.

DJ Mei Lwun (www.mei-lwun.com) is one of the top local DJs in the Bay Area and his famed Manic Mon-day event has partnered with Chic Fashion Week to bring the San Francisco entertainment and fashion industries together. His weekly “industry night” mixers at Matrix Fillmore have become a celebrated Monday night tradition in San Francisco. For Chic Fashion Week, Manic Monday will represent a chance for designers, models, vendors, and ticket holders to mingle to the mash-up style sounds of DJ Mei Lwun.

Chic Fashion Week’s Art Meets Fashion event at The Artists Alley will fea-ture Miss G Designs and Salon Blu hair designs in a body painting fashion show to explore the many ways art and fashion influence each other. The event will also include live painting and an art exhibition with wine and cheese. The Artist Alley is located in downtown SF and boasts an impressive following of art and fashion lovers.

Chic Fashion Week is working in collaboration with famed Charleston Pierce. Not only will he be hosting the big show at the SF Design Center, but he is throwing a surprise preview on Friday featuring Monique Zhang, Tayebi Naffissa and Picky Studios.

Chic Fashion Week has partnered with Damien Miller of Sapient Photography to throw the Chic Fash-ion Week Capture Finale Party at Project one, just one block from the Galleria. Capture is a monthly fashion series which includes models and photography, as well as live performances by SF dance troupes and other performing artists.

This is the night where designers will showcase their HIV/AIDS awareness challenge looks, which are styled around the Until There’s A Cure bracelets, to be donated to the Under One Roof Bou-tique in the Castro District. Party-goers will have the chance to view the Until There’s A Cure fashion show, learn more about the cause, and buy the bracelets, all while supporting local fashion. The night features DJ Jared F. on the decks and will be promoted throughout the Bay Area by Trevor Hewitt of Mixed Elements and Dolce Presents..

This afternoon show will feature 12 of San Francisco’s best emerging talent on the Chic Fashion Week runway under a full-scale production. The show includes a vendor fair, surprise performances and a Capture after-party.
