Many runners in the spring have great intentions to get in shape over thesummer. However, very few ever find the time to train properly and consis-tenly. For those of you interested in getting a head start on the conditioningneeded for cross country, the Cherry Creek High cross country coaches areoffering you a chance to work out and train this summer with guidance andinstruction from the coaching staff. The camp will run from June 21st - August5th. We will meet Monday-Thursday throughout the summer. We understandthat most runners will have conflicts due to family vacations and other sum-mer commitments. Therefore, daily attendance is not mandatory. Once yousign up for the camp you may come as often as you like. However, the moreconsistent your training during the summer, the better you will run in the fall.The camp is open to everyone 13 or older. We will meet from 8:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. We plan to start each day with stretching on the grass hill justEast of the Stutler Bowl Stadium. Topics to be discussed: proper runningshoes, (Runner’s Roost will be handing out discount coupons); proper meth-ods of warm-up and stretching; competitive running; proper nutrition; andhow to avoid running injuries.
