  • Great Lakes Solutions:Innovative. Reliable. Sustainable.

Resulting from decades of hard work, innovationand lessons learned, the Great Lakes Solutionsof today is positioned to be our customers bestpartner for bromine, phosphorus and antimony-based @ame retardant needs, both today andfar into the future. For almost a century, wehave helped our customers to meet their @ameretardant needs with a broad portfolio ofproducts and solutions. In late 2010, Chemturaintroduced the Great Lakes Solutions business witha mission to build on its well-established heritage,by introducing dierentiated, innovative products, and greener, sustainable solutions whilemaintaining performance and quality. We areproud of our history, and look forward to helpingour customers meet future performance, safetyand compliance requirements by constantlyimproving our portfolio with new and improvedproducts for maximum sustainability.

    Flame RetardantsSaving Lives

Fire kills thousands of people each year through-out the world, but many are spared because Wresare slowed or never start due to the use of Xameretardants. Great Lakes Solutions is a global leaderin Xame retardant products and solutions for usein applications such as furniture foam, electroniccomponents, electrical enclosures, buildingproducts and more.

Great Lakes Solutions believes the public shouldnot be forced to choose between environmentaland Wre safety and that we must have both. Ourbusiness demands the highest standards of bothWre retardancy performance and environmentalsustainability. To meet these increasingly complexchallenges, Great Lakes Solutions oers a widerange of Xame retardant solutions that allow OEMsthe versatility to meet their individual needs.

Brominated Xame retardants are used in avariety of applications from electronic housingsto printed circuit boards and electrical connectorsto Xexible and rigid polyurethane foam. BrominatedXame retardants provide optimal processing whilemaintaining outstanding physical properties in acost eective manner.

Phosphorus Xame retardants are popular forelectronic housings and where improved UVstability is important. Our phosphorus Xameretardants are used extensively in a wide varietyof applications. Antimony trioxide is used as asynergist in many polymers when combinedwith brominated Xame retardants and can beused alone as a Xame retardant in PVC. Ourantimony-based synergists are used in polymers, paints, textiles, polyesters, coatings, elastomersand rubber compounds.
