Rings with 7 or more membersQ 0050 Synthesis and Properties of [1,6']Biazulenyl Compounds. — A number of new

[1,6']biazulenyl compounds is synthesized by reaction of azulene pyrylium salts with sodium cyclopentadienide. It is shown that 2,6-dimethyl-pyrylium salts are more reac-tive than 2,6-diphenyl analogues.
