30 - 091Reductive Opening of Phenyl Substituted Thiacycloalkanes: NewWay for Sulfur-Containing Organolithium Compounds. — A newmethod for the preparation of dianionic sulfur-containing organolithium com-pounds which react with various electrophiles giving functionalized mercaptansis presented. Key step is the reductive ring opening of thiacycloalkanes (I) withlithium in the presence of DTBB as a catalyst. The presence of the phenyl groupin the heterocycle is indispensable. The intermediate organolithium compoundsdo not suffer . alpha.-deprotection (referred to sulfur). — (ALMENA, J.;FOUBELO, F.; YUS, M.; Tetrahedron 53 (1997) 15, 5563-5572; Dep. Quim.Org., Fac.
