The crystal and molecular structure of the new title analogue (I) is described. The cyclohexanone ring adopts a distorted chair conformation. The carboxylic acid and the methyl ester groups have axial positions, while the benzamido group is equatorial. The amino acid residue adopts a semi-extended conformation.
