Manhattan Wellness Center
IDEC International Design Competition
CONCEPT
To create a health clinic that enriches the lives of the individuals within the community. Manhattan has a
unique culture that brings together traditional values
and progressive ideas. The Manhattan Wellness
Center emulates those ideals by combining tradition
with technology. This project was executed in one week with two teammates after a week of research
and precedent studies.

Passive Solar House
Weekend Retreat
CONCEPT
The client Laura Johnson desires an
efficient passive solar house for her weekend retreat. The house supports
those wishes with concrete thermal
massing on the floors and walls, south-
facing curtain walls, and good ventilation
throughout the house. As requested by the client, the house provides entertaining
spaces within the open
living/dining/kitchen area and outdoor
deck overlooking Perry Lake. Several
rooms can be converted into bedrooms if occupied by a larger family in the future.

Pediatrics Office
CONCEPT
Design solution for a
small pediatrics office
with two doctors. The
design for this pediatrics office was inspired by
the beautiful butterflies
found in nature to create
a soft, playful space to
provide healing. The overall space gives the
user the warm, happy
feeling as if they just saw
a butterfly.

LG Kiosk
International Project
CONCEPT
The electronics company, LG, has requested a design for a
moveable kiosk that will be
located in Millennium Plaza of
Coex mall in Seoul, South
Korea. Three major components of the kiosk should
include sales, services, and
advertising. The kiosk must be
easily operated by two
employees who will set up and take down components of the
kiosk each day. The design
must represent LG and its
advanced technological solutions accompanied by
green innovations.

Element Boutique Hotel, Restaurant, Deli & Nightclub
Manhattan, KS
CONCEPT
Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises has purchased three spaces within the Manhattan Town Center Mall Complex. L.E.Y.E. wants to create a destination entertainment
complex that will be unique for the city of Manhattan. This was a group project
completed with three other teammates. The concept was to influence the design of
the space with the four elements of Nature: Water, Wind, Earth, and Fire by
manipulating the visual experiences and materials

Van Cleef & Arpels
Jewelry Store in
Manhattan, KS
CONCEPT
To create a new design solution and
merchandise displays
for a jewelry store of our
choice in a new retail space in Manhattan,
KS. I chose Van Cleef &
Arpels and created a
romantic space with a
French whimsical feel. The space reflects on
the timeless love story of
Van Cleef & Arpel’s
jewelry as well as their
contemporary, clean and elegant style.
