POINT & SHOOT

You are most likely a party goer. A simple pocket camera will suit you best since it won’t give you a hard time with that cute clutch in your left hand and a martini glass in your right hand. Dance the night away without ever having to miss a chance to capture each and every moment.Remember: Check your battery before you go. It’s a simple tip, but one we all forget far too often!

You may find it a bit troublesome at first, but a camera bag can protect the camera from dirt, sand, dust, etc. It’s a delicate instrument and a big investment, so protect it.

Why we like it?

The details. While many jeans makers don’t really do anything new with classic styles, kudos to Easton for using neat and tight inside stitching. There’s also this hidden embroidered logo inside the back pocket that, in time, creates a

Makers mark EASTON

What is it?

EASTON started back in 2006, when these guys called The Squadra decided to create a jeans line. After three years of learning and adjusting their concept, The Squadra are finally ready to launch their EASTON denim collection.

What styles are there? EASTON is a line of high-quality jeans that come in three cuts: slim, regular slim and skinny. Slim and regular slim are made for men and each has three series, while the skinny cut is made for both men and women and has five series.

Just In

Meet the new voices of VIVA GLAM…Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper! They love singing, they love fashion, they love lipstick and they want girls all over the world to have fun – but safely. With eyes wide open to the facts and fictions about women and HIV/AIDS, these two celebrities are using their clout to do their part in the fight against the disease. They are the faces of ‘From Our Lips’, the new M·A·C Cosmetics VIVA GLAM campaign.

Sizzling, sensuous and self-created, these ladies are channelling their high-voltage diva energy for the campaign, which will launch

with VIVA GLAM Cyndi, a light coral red lipstick, and VIVA GLAM Gaga, a light blue-pink lipstick. Both shades are not only electric, they also represent the independent, high-end yet responsible modern woman. Every cent of profit made from the cosmetics line will go towards the M.A.C AIDS Fund. Who would have thought that your lipstick could help change the world? The M·A·C AIDS Fund has already raised over $150 Million to combat

HIV/AIDS, and with the dynamic energy of these two new spokeswomen, the fund is giving a voice and support to women – of all ages, races, sexualities and walks of life. Tyara Putri

Spring Fun Kit by Juicy Couture to enjoy your

kinda sporty lately, we

can’t help crush-ing on this set of two paddle racquets, two balls and a stylish mesh cotton carrying case

(Rp.450,000). Of course this brightly coloured pad-dle set won’t guarantee you win the game, but when it comes to style, no one can beat them on the court. Tyara Putri

on the outside pocket. Oh, and have we mentioned that they also give you a cool denim bag for each and every pair of jeans you buy? Yes, we like that too.

Where can we get them?

You can get a pair of EASTON jeans online through their web store at www.thisiseaston.com. The good news is they offer free shipping on all orders in Indonesia. But remem-ber the name EASTON, because you can also find them in local exhi-bition stores. Tyara Putri.

Made in Indonesia

RBRTH is short for rebirth, the perfect term to describe the moment designer Stephanie Vermaas let go of the old and opened her heart to the new, in this case in the form of precious metal jewellery and leather luxuries. Tyara Putri chats to Steph about her rebirth

How did it start? I had been working for my mum on her jewellery for a year, and one day I had one of those light bulb above the head moments. I woke up one morning and thought it was time for me to grow up and go on my own, in whatever direc-tion I chose.

Are you on your own? Yes, it’s just me, myself and I.

Is the material you use for your jewellery 100 per cent made in Indonesia? Yes, every bit.

Why should people love RBRTH? Because I have put a whole lot of lovin’ into it! Actually, I don’t want to tell you what you should and shouldn’t do. If you love it, then all

those long hours paid off and I can pat myself on the back. And if you don’t, then I guess I have to work extra long hours, which I quite enjoy.

What’s the next goal for RBRTH? Dressing Lady Gaga and taking over the world one store at a time!

Where can we get RBRTH? The easiest and most accessible way would be online at our web-store www.rbrth.com, but hopefully

you’ll soon find us in the capital and beyond. Follow our

tweets @rbrthonline to find out what

stores will stock our products in the near future!

Oh yes, we did check out your webstore

and fell in love with the look-

book. But why do you ask for US dol-

lars for payment? Do you apply the same price for your local customer? US dollars looks prettier, has less zeros and therefore looks less intim-idating. Plus, I like to keep things neat. It’s the same price for all. We don’t discriminate – we convert.

Last shout out? Thanks to Time Out Jakarta for this interview and mad love to everyone for the support! Cheerio!

House call

Arseto Adiputra is a young and talented creative director and freelance photographer who’s famous for his fashion snaps. He’s been living in this house since he was born, and about a year ago his passion for photography led him to renovate his first floor space into an office as well as a photo studio which he named ARS. His studio is also available to other photographers to rent out when he’s not using it himself. As we stepped onto the upper level, we found this super cosy, minimalist loft with a huge comfortable couch in front of the telly, a simple dining table with a nice backdrop, and Arseto’s workstation, with a touch of vintage accessories. Seto proudly said that he designed this loft, which used to be a storage-room, and got all the vintage accessories - like the old-school black telephone, typing machine, and video

projector - from his grandfather. As a Britrock and Britpop fan, we

were not surprised to find a Union Jack hanging functionally as

a room divider. Among his stunning collection of fancy shoes, design books and fashion magazines, we could

’t help but smile at his set of ‘Detektif Conan’

comics in the drawer. Classic. Tyara Putri
