Omar Ibrahim

Graduate Student

Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, The

Netherlands

Omar‟s expertise lies in logistical competences. He started at a young age as a

coordinator at a public transportation bus company, where hundreds of passengers relied

on him for having up to a 150 busses on 35 routes driving according to the timetable. In

order to expand and develop he accepted a job offer as a train traffic controller at ProRail,

a semi-government institution responsible for the entire train network in the Netherlands.

As it is one of the densest and high-tech railway systems in Europe, safety was his

primary responsibility. However his inherited entrepreneurial genes demanded more. He

started his own taxi company, which he expended over a period of 3 years, to a

respectable company of 5 new Mercedes and 7 employees working 24/7. He achieved all

this while continuing educating himself, he believes knowledge and experience combined

are the key to success, which is his primary goal in life. His ambition is to expend his

horizon abroad, to share and develop his knowledge and experience. The explanation for

his personal interest in the Arab world, mainly Egypt, lies in his roots. After finishing his

Master degree next year he plans to pursue his ambition, by selling his company, and

combining a part-time job as a University teacher and a managerial function in a large

company abroad.”
