Babies Galore!!

Page 2: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Welcome back to the Discworld Legacy. This chapter is hosted by Agnes' eldest daughter Bianca, her husband and many children.

In previous chapters Angua the family sim was selected as heir and moved back in with her parents, she married her university crush Dominic and settled down to start having children. So far she has had the 6 children she needs to complete her life time want but I've decided to go for it and let her have the 10 kids she really wants.

Page 3: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Kids (so far):Bethan - Popularity (young adult)Berilia - Family (young adult)Boddony - Romance (teen)Brutha - Popularity (teen)Beryl - Grow up (toddler)Black Aliss - Grow up (toddler)

Great A'Tuin and Robin are still around, although Great A'Tuin is reaching the end of his life.

Page 4: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Oh Agnes I feel so awful. I know mum has told you the sad news but I need to talk to someone, I don't want to burden mum more than necessary.

I think dad knew that his time was nearly up. That morning he went round the house hugging each and every one of us.

Page 5: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

The rest of the day he spent with mum.

Page 6: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Then early in the evening Death came for him.

Page 7: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Mum knew immediately what was happening and rushed to the hallway to be with dad as he left.

Page 8: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

At first it looked as if dad was going to fight it.

Page 9: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

But he came to accept it in the end.

Page 10: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I'd like to think he looked quite happy at the end, after all it's another great adventure to go on (you know what dad was like), it's just that this time he won't be returning.

Page 11: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Mum's devastated of course, she and dad have been together for so long, I think it's going to be hard for her to adjust to life without him, it's going to be hard for all of us.

Page 12: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Even though all I wanted to do was break down and cry I had to be there for the twins. It was their birthday that evening and they needed me to be there.

Page 13: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

They are so beautiful, but it took all the strength I had to keep the smile on my face.

Page 14: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

And seeing Black Aliss crying over the loss of her grandfather was heartbreaking.

Page 15: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Once the children had gone to bed I stood by dad's grave for a long time crying all the tears I couldn't earlier.

I'm going to miss him so much Agnes, he's always been there for me, I don't know how I'm going to cope with him gone.

Angua

Page 16: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Rest in peace Great A'Tuin Discworld.

You were one of the best founders I've ever had. From the beginning you lent your own special something to the legacy, you chose his own wife who to my annoyance was far too similar to yourself. You spent your life working on your skills and climbing the science career (a sim after my own heart), that and being romantic with your wife whenever I gave you a free moment. A knowledge sim to the end you died with full skills, an excellent pension as a retired Mad Scientist and perma platinum status.

Page 17: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

With his wife Great A'Tuin produced 3 excellent children - Angua, Agnes and Albert. He doted on his grandchildren and died wishing for another.

His will benefited 14 people including:His wife Robin - $20,000His daughters Angua and Agnes - $10,000 eachHis son Albert - $10,000His grandchildren Bethan, Berilia, Boddony, Brutha, Beryl and Black Aliss - $2,500 each

I'm going to miss him, the legacy won't be the same without him.

Page 18: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Dear Albert,

I'm glad you could come to dad's memorial, I know mum appreciated it.

Even though I still miss him so much I guess life has to go on for the rest of us.

Not long after the memorial service the house was visited by a burglar.

Page 19: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Thank goodness we thought to install an alarm in the garage, I hate to think what would have happened if we hadn't.

Page 20: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I can only guess that the burglar spooked when he heard the alarm and left the garage hoping that he wouldn't be caught.

Thankfully the police were very quick to respond and the policeman turned up ready to apprehend the burglar before he got anywhere near the front door.

Page 21: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

For a moment it looked as if the burglar would get away.

Page 22: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

But happily he was bested and taken away in handcuffs.

We got $500 in reward for our aid in capturing the wanted felon.

Page 23: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Although poor Dominic was very upset at the thought of our house being invaded, even though nothing had been stolen.

Page 24: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Boddony was also upset, and quite angry at the burglar. She decided it was time to leave and join her older sisters at university. I'll let you know how she's getting on as soon as I know myself (she's as bad as you when it comes to answering letters).

Love Angua

Dear Mum and Dad

Uni is great!!

I'm having such fun here with Beth and Beri.

I can't believe they're both engaged already, how boring, time at uni is meant for enjoying yourself, not getting that serious over someone.

Page 26: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I am making sure I get all my work done and go to all my classes.

Page 27: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

The professors here are really friendly and helpful, I can go to them anytime I have trouble with my work. I know I'm going to get good grades thanks to them.

Page 28: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I'm also meeting loads of new people (you always told me I was too shy dad).

Page 29: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

The others are all doing good too.

We did have a bit of trouble with a fire but nothing that wasn't sorted quickly.

Page 30: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Anyway, got to run, got an exam to go to.

Love you loadsBoddony

Page 31: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Hi sis,

I'm a bit worried about mum, I think she's gone a bit funny.

While the maid is here she follows him around and will lecture him over nothing.

Page 32: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

She spends a lot of her time talking to the pet brick dad made when he had just started toy making. I think I've heard her calling it G.A.

Page 33: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

The rest of the time she spends staring at dad's portrait in the hall. I know how much in love they were, I just don't know how much longer she's going to be able to on without him.

Page 34: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Mum did attend the birth of my seventh child, another girl which we called Beldame.

[Beldame is named for the mother of the fool in Wyrd Sisters]

Page 35: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

She's got her dad's red hair and blue eyes and my skin tone.

Page 36: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

It felt like no time at all until Beldame was ready to grow into a toddler.

Page 37: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Brutha immediately took charge of her care, while Dominic and I retired to the bedroom (you know how much I love a full house).

[Beldame is a Virgo with 10 neat (bah), 7 outgoing, 2 active (double bah), 0 playful and 8 nice]

Page 38: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

In other news, I think dad may not be quite as gone as we all thought. There's been a weird feeling on the top floor for the last couple of nights, especially centred around dad's old bed.

Page 39: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

And then this morning Beryl told me she'd seen grandpa. I didn't believe it at first but then Black Aliss told me the same thing.

Page 40: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

In a way it's sort of comforting to think he's still around, although the girls aren't that happy about it at the moment.

Page 41: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Oh yes, there was one last thing. Beldame's first word was mummy, I'm so proud.

Love Angua.

P.S. I hear that you or Christa may be pregnant again, is this true?

Page 42: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Dominic's Diary - Day 35

After losing my position again and having to go back to being a President my old company I've decided that being a Business Tycoon is not for me.

I've been intrigued lately by Angua's stories of all the criminals she's brought to justice. It seems like a lucrative, if more than a little risky, lifestyle so I've found myself a job as a Bookie. It's all above board for now, but I'm going to have to be careful that Angua doesn't find out.

Page 43: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Dear Albert,

Your nieces have reached their teenage years.

Page 44: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Beryl was impatient to transition and didn't waste any time in blowing out her candles.

Page 45: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Black Aliss lingered a little longer and made a wish before blowing out her candles and joining her sister.

Page 46: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

What can I say about Black Aliss?

She has certainly found her own style that's for sure. She's also decided that what she wants most out of life is to have a good time. I honestly don't know what I think about that.

[Black Aliss is a pleasure sim with the life time want of becoming a Professional Party Guest]

Page 47: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Beryl wants to be like her grandparents and learn "everything about everything" (her words not mine).

[Beryl is a knowledge sim with the life time want of becoming a Criminal Mastermind]

Page 48: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

In fitting with her goal in life Beryl went straight out to use the telescope.

Page 49: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Although the poor girl spent hardly anytime out there before dad interrupted her (I know for sure he's haunting us, he gave me a scare the other night).

Page 50: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

At least she seems to enjoy the experience more now than she did as a child.

Page 51: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Even though I've had seven children already the birth of the eighth was no easier than any of the others.

Page 52: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

But it is always worth it.

Page 53: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

But the pain didn't stop there. This time at least I knew what was happening.

The first born of my newest set of twins was a little girl we named Bemery, the second a little boy we named Bursar.

That's it for now, I'll write to you again soon.

Angua

Page 54: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

[Bemery was Queen of Lancre from 670 until 722.

Bursar is actually a title rather than a name, but I like the character too much not to use it. He is bursar at the Unseen University (University for wizards located in Ankh-Morpork). He is a very nervous man and after the events of Moving Pictures and Reaper Man is a little mentally unstable, but very good at maths.]

Page 55: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"Hi Agnes"

"Sorry to call you so late but I though you'd better know as soon as possible."

Page 56: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"Mum passed away earlier today."

"Yeah, the kids are taking it pretty hard, and I'm not doing so well myself."

Page 57: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

You're right, at least now mum and dad are together again.

It doesn't ease the pain of losing her though.

"Thanks Agnes, I'll be alright, I guess you'd better go tell your kids."

"It's ok I'll ring Albert."

"Bye"

Page 58: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Rest in peace Robin Discworld.

You were the perfect wife, mother and grandmother. It's hard to believe now that I nearly didn't let Great A'Tuin marry you because the pair of you shared aspirations and star signs. Like your husband you spent your life working on your skills and getting promotions in your chosen career - Medicine, despite this you always had time for him and your children. You were a true knowledge sim and died with full skills, a pension from your position as retired Chief of Staff and perma platinum status.

Page 59: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Together Robin and Great A'Tuin have populated the neighbourhood with 3 children, 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and lots more on the way.

Her will benefited 13 people including:Her daughters Angua and Agnes - $10,000 eachHer son Albert - $10,000Her grandchildren Bethan, Berilia, Boddony, Brutha, Beryl and Black Aliss - $2,500 each

I couldn't have wished for a more perfect co-founder, I will miss Robin.

Page 60: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Brutha's Diary - Day 38

I miss grandma.

Sometimes I wish I lived in a smaller family. I mean grandma only just died and then we have to pretend to be cheerful while Beldame becomes a child. I love all my sisters, but life would be so much easier without them.

Page 61: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I feel kinda sorry for Beldame, she's gonna be pretty much ignored. I mean mum and dad love all of us but they're so busy with the new twins they're not gonna have much time for her. Grand dad and grandma are gone now. Beryl and Black Aliss are teens and they have each other anyway, so probably can't be bothered with her.

Page 62: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

And I've got Breanna, my girlfriend.

Page 63: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I think I'm in love.

Page 64: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Plus I'm moving of to uni soon, probably gonna move in with Beth, Beri and Bod, it sounds like a fun place from what they've said (but not from what they've told mum). I just hope Breanna can come with me.

Page 65: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"Hi Mum"

"Yes mum I'm fine."

"Yes the others are fine too."

"Yes mum"

Page 66: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"Yes we're all going to classes and working hard."

"Don't worry mum, we do take time off to relax sometimes. Actually we've started a band."

"Don't worry, we're not all going to suddenly drop out and start touring the country."

Page 67: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"Hand me over to dad would you mum"

"Hi dad, we're all fine."

"Yes dad I'm making sure I'm not working too hard."

"Yes I'm making sure I meet people, since when has that been a problem with me anyway?"

Page 68: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"Anyway, I met this girl the other day. She's pretty much everything I want in a partner, pretty, laid back, into making friends and partying that kind of thing."

Page 69: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"I really, really liked her dad."

"No dad, we're not going out. You see she's a legacy kid too, actually she's heir of the family that lives right next door, you know, the Time-Lords. So of course we can never be anything more than friends."

"Yeah I was pretty miserable for a while."

[The "girl" is none other than Azure Time-Lord heir to my matriarchal legacy. She and Brutha have three bolts chemistry so I'm a bit disappointed that I can't pair them up, but she's already moved back onto the legacy lot so I can't make her be not heir. The picture shows how they said goodbye even though they'd only just met, I guess they really wanted to be together.]

Page 70: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"But then I met this other woman."

"She's really nice and cheered me up a lot."

Page 71: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"No there's nothing more than friendship between us yet."

"If I'm heir I wouldn't be able to marry her, and I don't want to hurt her by leading her on."

"Of course if I'm not heir the first thing I'll do if kiss her."

Page 72: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"The others? Well Bethan and Jacqueline are still really happy together, they're excited about graduating at the end of the year and starting a home together."

Page 73: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"Berilia is happy too, she actually considered dropping out so she could start on her family quicker."

"Don't worry dad, she's decided to stay on with Geoffrey."

Page 74: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

"And Boddony is... keeping busy."

Page 75: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

""Yes dad, we're all still getting top grades."

"Gotta run now dad. Tell mum and the kids I love 'em"

"You too dad"

"Bye"

Page 76: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Hi sis,

So both you and Christa are pregnant, congratulations.

We had yet another birthday the other day.

Page 77: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

[Bemery is a Pisces, 10 neat, 4 outgoing, 10 active (yay), 1 playful, 10 nice]

Page 78: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

[Bursar is a Gemini - 4 neat, 9 outgoing, 10 active, 3 playful and 4 nice]

Page 79: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

We're having some trouble with the private school the older four went to, they refuse to accept anymore applications from us. Well if they don't want us they can do without our money, we were fine going to public school, my kids will be too.

[The headmaster got glitched, he just stood there the whole time with that expression on his face. After that he simply didn't turn up at the house. I don't want to move the family yet, so I'm just going to have to put up with it.]

Page 80: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I've got other things to think about other than that rude headmaster. I'm pregnant with my tenth and final child, yes I've finally decided that enough is enough.

Beldame especially is looking forward to having another little brother or sister to play with. I'm concerned sometimes that she may be a little left out, I try my best to play with her, but you know how moods fluctuate while your pregnant.

Good luck with your own pregnancy.

Love Angua

Page 81: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Beryl's Diary - Day 40

It's finally happened.

I was stargazing as usually when I was suddenly blinded by a bright white light.

Page 82: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

It seemed to be shining directly down on me but I couldn't see where it was coming from.

Page 83: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Then I felt something pulling me upwards, towards whatever the source of the light was. I did my best to hang on but I just wasn't strong enough.

Page 84: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Mum's told me that the family heard my screams and came running to the balcony.

Page 85: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

She also said that sweet little Beldame immediately tried to see where I'd gone.

Page 86: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

I've no real memory of what happened in the space ship, just little snippets.

Page 87: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

But I now know for sure that aliens exist.

Page 88: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

Dear Albert,

I've got amazing news, early this morning I gave birth to the newest and last additions of my family.

Page 89: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

That's right I said additions.

First up was a little girl we named Brenda. She had mum's blonde hair and dad's green eyes it's wonderful to see a little bit of them live on in my children. She also has my light skin.

[Brenda is the name of the Dowager Duchess of Quirm who is (obviously) fabulously wealthy, and breeds dragons. She appears in Guards! Guards! and is mentioned in The Truth]

Page 90: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

And then came my little bonus, another girl we named Bon Anna. She has mum's brown eyes, dad's brown hair and Dominic's dark skin.

[Lady Bon Anna is a voodoo goddess who was mentioned in Witches Abroad.]

Page 91: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

The kids were really excited to meet the new arrivals and it was hard getting them to leave for school. Once they'd left I had time to bond with my new babies, I'm really going to miss this when they're all grown up, at least I have grandchildren to look forward to.

When the kids got home from school there was no time to brood as it was Bemery and Bursar's birthday.

Page 92: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

They've both grown into adorable children, but are both so serious, they're usual quietly playing games of chess against each other, so different from all the rest.

Love Angua

Page 93: Chapter 6 - Babies Galore

With Angua's 10 children born (plus one more) I can finally see an end to this generation, and the end to this chapter. Next time there will be no more births (unless something goes badly wrong), but plenty of birthdays.
