Changes to the Ghanaian 50 Cedi Banknotes

The Bank of Ghana announced that the old GH¢50 banknotes ceased to be legal

tender as of September 30, 2012. The old GH¢50 banknotes were replaced with the

upgraded GH¢50 banknotes introduced on August 21, 2012. Please refer to the

Starting November 5, 2012, the U.S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana will no longer

accept the old GH¢50 banknotes for payment of visa and American citizen service

fees.
