Current Conditions

Childhood obesity is one of the most serious public health challenges of the 21st century. The problem is global and is steadily affecting many low- and middle-income countries, particularly in urban settings. Over the last 30 years, it has reached epidemic proportions in the world. One-third of world’s population under the age of 18 are overweight or obese, that’s twice as many as there were in the 1980s.

1. Healthy lifestyle habits, including healthy eating and physical activity, can lower the risk of becoming obese and developing related diseases.

2. The dietary and physical activity behaviors of children and adolescents are influenced by many sectors of society, including families, communities, schools, child care settings, medical care providers, faith-based institutions, government agencies, the media, and the food and beverage industries and entertainment industries.

3. Schools play a particularly critical role by establishing a safe and supportive environment with policies and practices that support healthy behaviors. Schools also provide opportunities for students to learn about and practice healthy eating and physical activity behaviors.

Kids are the generation who will lead the world in the future includes the 21st century. We need to take care of them well and give them the best option they possibly could get in their life. Unhealthy habits have lead them into obesity which is absolutely dangerous for their health and social life. World need a leader that could take responsibility to their body and health well. Therefore, let us fight obesity by encourage the kids to live more healty, active and dynamic. Then, someday they will able to take the lead of this world properly.
