Background Information: Antekad Sdn. Bhd. (Antekad) is registered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with registration # 182462-H. Antekad has demonstrated a chain of Custody system that complies with GFS Wood Tracking Program Requirements (GFS 034 WTP) for Verified Legal (VL) for the products produced and traded. This surveillance visit involves office and factory based in Tuaran to verify continual compliance.

Associated Organizations & Subcontractors: Antekad does not have any associated companies or use sub-contractors for manufacturing or trading of timber products.

Description of the Supply Chain: Antekad purchases raw material (sawn timbers) from approved suppliers (Empayar Majubumi Sdn. Bhd., Megah Jadi Sdn. Bhd., Seratim Sdn. Bhd., Gold Rank Sdn. Bhd., Uni-Lumber Sdn. Bhd. and Kilang Kayu Lohan Sdn. Bhd.), which have participated in Global Forestry Services Wood Tracking Program (GFS WTP). Common species used are Red Seraya (313), Dark Red Seraya (313), White Seraya (311), Selangan Batu, (310), Kapur (127), Pelawan-pelawan and OT. Sales markets include Europe, Middle East and Australia. Highlights of Assessment 1.0 Legal Requirements Antekad maintains permits for all their wood processing and export activities. List of regulations are updated. Local workers are insured under SOCSO, whereas foreign workers are covered under Foreign Workers Compensation Scheme. Antekad manufacturing mill is equipped with safety measures. Antekad has applied for DOSH registration in March 2015. GAP 006/2014 (Closed) 2.0 Documented Policy & Procedures Antekad has a formal signed policy dated 1st September 2012, which defines that the company will work in compliance to legal requirements and support environmental protection (CITIES), purchase verified legal raw material & products and also support Sustainable Forest Management. Antekad also has formal procedures for purchasing & receiving, storage of rough sawn timber; production control system that includes for kiln drying and manufacture of laminated scantling, decking and pallets, as well as Sales and Administration. Antekad has to revise all procedures to Verified Legal (VL) and to be approved by COC Management Representative. 3.0 Organisation & Training Antekad has a list of management personnel that clearly defined every management responsibility in COC system. Organization chart detailing name and position of management representatives is available. Workers were observed to be equipped with facemask, hand glove and shoes during work. The staff knows the location of fire hose reels, fire hydrants and fire extinguishers within the manufacturing mill. Safety awareness and fire training that was conducted in 2014 records are maintained. GAP 007/2014 (Closed)






4.0 Purchasing, Importing & Receiving All VL raw materials are purchased in accordance to Purchasing procedure that includes approved suppliers participating in the GFS WTP. Antekad has recently received the revised risk assessment WTP-015 for use in assessing suppliers and material. All VL raw materials are purchased through companies participating in the GFS WTP. Antekad has an approved sawn timber supplier’s list, where all of the approved suppliers have been undergone GFS WTP and possess a valid Statement of Participation. The approved supplier list was last updated in April 2015. 5.0 Process Controls Raw material is issued into a production using Timber Issue form. Timber Issue Form # will then work as a batch # for a defined production. The batch # could provide material to more than one item # and/or stock in WIP section which will be re-used for another item # of the same material category. The volume of input of raw material into a VL production is recorded on Timber issue Form. Timber issue forms # 0742 & 0740 for 77.34 m3 were observed. The output volume (50.68 m3) is recorded based on the production unit that can be used to record total production of each month. GAP 005/2013 (Minor) - Closed Observed consistent identification of WIP using bundle cards that included Batch # and bundle number & Item # on finished goods. E.g. Batch # V1013 / Item # 320 Gap 008/2014 Minor: Wrong recording of Item # on the WIP bundle card. (Closed) 6.0 Sales, Exports & Customs Antekad has formal procedures for sales. Item number, material category and GFS WTP# are indicated on both sales invoice and packing list. Besides, Antekad uses its Product Declaration Form for all exported of moulded products. Finished goods in the warehouse are identified as VLO. (Observation: should revise system to use the term VL instead of VLO/VLC). GAP 009/2014 minor: Antekad do not keep and maintain copies of export sales documents: JHP 1, JHP 2, JPHKK 2 and JHPKK 3.
