CFISD AP European History

Scope & Sequence 2015-16

Course Description: The Advanced Placement European History course focuses on European history from the

High Renaissance (approximately 1450) to the present. The themes studied are intellectual and cultural history,

political and diplomatic history, and social and economic history. Students will analyze historical evidence and

learn to apply their analysis in essays and in multiple choice questions. The course is an elective and does not

meet the state standards for substitution for the World History Studies required course.

***The length of each unit is a specific number of days, but it is understood that there is a range of +/- a day. The purpose of the

flexibility is meant to allow teachers the opportunity to plan for the needs of their students and to accommodate re-teaching or review when

necessary. If pre-assessment indicates student mastery could be obtained in a fewer number of days, the additional time could be used for

extension or carried into the next unit.
