Them Children

Elizabeth gave birth to her first child, Prince Charles, on 14 November 1948, several weeks after letters patent were issued by her father allowing her children to enjoy a royal and princely status to which they otherwise would not have been entitled. A second child, Princess Anne, was born in 1950. Though Philip's surname was Mountbatten, the Royal House is named Windsor, and the surname Mountbatten-Windsor was adopted in 1960 for his and Elizabeth's descendants

Parliament opening The queen officially opens new session of parliament every year, usually in October or November. It together with the Duke Edinburgh goes from the Buckingham palace in Westminster in the state carriage. Before the queen and its environment come into a parliament building, palace guards search building cellars. This tradition is observed since 1605 when the group of conspirators tried to blow up a parliament building.

The Changing of the GuardGreat Britain is known as the country of traditions. Many of them have remained for a long time, and Londoners invariably honour them. Changing of the guard at a royal Buckingham palace is one of the London traditions most known and popular in tourists. Royal protection is carried out usually by the Guards infantry which full dress consists of a red suit and a cap from the bear skin. At this ceremony new sentry replaces old guard change accompanied by an orchestra.

Receptions in a royal garden

More than 30 thousand persons visit receptions in the Royal garden every year. Every summer it is spent at least three receptions in the Buckingham palace and one to Devotes Holirudhaus in Edinburgh. These receptions are spent since 1860th years. In the fifties our 20th century quantity of receptions in a garden of the Buckingham palace have increased from two to three in a year. For reception people get out of all spheres of a life of a society: from the government, armed forces, a diplomatic corps.
