Course Obiectives Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:- * Prepare for the AWS welding inspector exam and have enough knowledge and

skills to pass such exam in order to get the AWS Welding Inspector Certification Discuss the aspects of welding inspection, CWI and CWE tests as well as the skills, responsibilities and qualities of an effective inspector Carryout safe practices for welding inspectors as well as the method of metal joining and cutting processes Identify the weld joint geometry and welding symbols including the features, terminology and application Employ documentation governing weld inspection and qualification and describe the metal properties and destructive testing Distinguish the various metric practices for welding inspector Explain the welding metallurgy for the welding inspector, weld and base metal discontinuities and illustrate visual inspection and other NDE methods and symbols Recognize welding of pipelines and related facilities in accordance with API 1104 Use tools properly for measuring and weld examination

Mr. Eric Oprako (USA) is a Senior Welding Engineer with over 30 years of industrial experience within the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Utilities and Construction industries. His thorough experience widely covers Welding Technology, Structural Welding,

,, Welding Metallurgy, Corrosion, Coating lnspection & Technology, A! Fabrications, NDT, Construction, Piping & Pipeline, Mechanical Inspection, Failure Analysis, Engineering Design, First Line Inspection of Pipelines, Facillty Mechanical Systems and

Structural Buildings, Structural Steel, Reinforced Concrete, Pipe & Fitting Materials and Welding Equipment. This includes commanding the standards of AWS, ASME, API, ICBO, Troxler, ACI, ANSI, Caltrans Standard Speclflcatlon, ARCO, BPX, Alyeska Speclficatlons and NACE. Further, he is also well-versed and proficient in using Robotics, CNC cutting, automatic tube and pipe welding systems, automated welding systems, automatic tube and pipe end preparing as well as electron beam. Mr. Oparko has a Bachelor degree in Welding Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University (USA) and an Associate degree in Welding Technology from the College of San Mateo (USA). Furthermore, he is a Certified Welding lnspector (AWS), Certified Special lnspector of Structural Steel & Welding (ICBO), Certified Speclal lnspector of Pre-Stressed Concrete (ICBO), Certlfied Special lnspector of Reinforced Concrete (ICBO), Certified Special lnspector of Masonry (ICBO), Certified Nuclear Gage Safety (Troxler), Certified Concrete Field Testing Technician (ACI), Certified NACE International Coating lnspector Level 3 and a Certified Magnetic Particle Test Level II (Hellier). In addition to this, he is an active member of the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).
