Title: Certificate Programme on Fashion Design

Duration: 3 months (weekend classes)

Description:

The course is designed to provide the students with the ability to identify the configuration of the female

silhouette in relation to the cut of ladies garments. The workshop examines the fundamentals of drafting

and sewing through the A-Line Skirt and it's variations of designs. It will teach the participants how to draft

master plan (blocks) for women's wear and analyze them through practical exercises, lectures,

demonstrations and examples.

Course Content:

Students will be introduced to the following processes throughout the workshop:

Introduction to women’s wear drafting

Introduction to language of Drafting and various tools

Identify the configuration of the human form related to female cut

Development of pattern interpretations according to the given designs

Basic fundamental techniques of Drafting and Sewing

Development of A-Line Skirt Project with Inserted Seam Pockets

Creating the master plan and paper patterns of the Final Project

Cutting and stitching of the Final Project

Fit Analysis of the Final Project

Project Presentation on dress form
