    DEAR READERS,

It’s more than one and half years ago that you received our last edition of DIALOG. In this time there’s been a lot going on within the REHARTGROUP – and I’m sure with you, too.

With the acquisition of the com-pany Schreiber Technology we were able to expand our product portfolio in the wastewater technology sector. The alliance with the Spanish extrusion die constructor, Morte en-sures an end-to-end solution from the box feeder to the finished brick. The delivery of a complete preparation and shaping plant to Algeria has meant that PETERSENSERVICE has changed from being a single machine manufacturer to a turnkey supplier, and that almost incidentally. Last but not least, the sale of a 1 Megawatt hydropower stati-on to the USA is for our REHARTPOWER Team an enormous task – in all senses of the word.Strengthened by the challenges already mastered, the REHARTGROUP is well prepared for our future undertakings. In particular in the ceramic sector we expect a noticeable growth with the housing requirements increasing with the high rate of immigration. What’s more: our circular screen feeder, which we presented for the first time at Ceramitec 2012, is step-by-step turning out to be a bestseller.

We will be delighted to see you again at Cera-mitec 2015 in Munich – or to get to know you for the first time. You can certainly look forward to what we have to offer there.

Back in 2013 the Algerian brick manufacturer, SARL Briquet-erie de Tidjelabine, with its headquarters in Z. I. de Tidje-labine, Boumerdès, commis-sioned the German company, Hans Lingl Anlagenbau und

Verfahrenstechnik GmbH & Co. KG as the ge-neral contractor with the project planning and delivery of a complete system for producing bricks. In spring/summer 2015 PETERSENSERVICE GmbH has begun to contribute to the project.

PETERSENSERVICE has been entrusted with the delivery, assembly and start-up of the com-plete crushing, mixing and shaping of the sys-tem. In cooperation with the family business, which was founded by Hans Lingl sen. in 1938 and has expertise for bricks production, Petersen will set another milestone in Africa and the Algerian brick industry. annual output of some 280,000 tons of finished products. A BIG STEP FORWARD FOR REHART THÜRINGEN

With the working space at REHARTTHÜRINGEN stretched to its absolute limit, an extension to the manufacturing hall was more than neces-sary.The construction project in Staitz, Thuringia (Auma-Weidatal region) started in autumn 2014

and was completed in May 2015. With this progressive step REHARTTHÜRINGEN now has a further 600 m² capacity available, where they can complete the orders in the high-quality service their customers are used to and on schedule.

    MILESTONE IN AFRICA

With these machines a roller gap of up to 0.8 mm can be effectively maintained. This way these roll mills can be used for fine milling the plasticized body fed in.

In the subsequent shaping process the double shaft mixer DWM1000 and the vacuum aggre-gate VAP750-700 are used for final mixing and adapting the pressing moisture. So the body is optimally prepared for the subsequent extrusi-on, paving the way for the production of high-quality bricks in the Algerian brick work “made in Germany”.

Since mid-July 2015 Petersen employees have been on site in Tidjelabine to professionally assemble the machines and optimally coordi-nate the interaction of the single parts for live operation. The start-up of the complete system has been scheduled for the beginning of 2016.

MEGAWATT FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Shortly before the well-earned sum-mer vacation, the REHARTGROUP lan-ded a big fish. The project planning had been in pro-gress for some time and then Gerhard Wolff and Klaus Schülein (Managing

Director of Rehart GmbH) travelled to Salisbury, Maryland to sign a contract with Jerry Straalsund (President of Per-cheron Power). As we know, the United States of Ame-rica are well known for their superla-tives, and now the largest hydropower station ever built by REHARTPOWER will be build-in there. It comprises three adjoining screws which together will generate one megawatt of environ-mental-friendly power.

  • FOCUS ON HYDROPOWER

FISH MIGRATION MADE EASYWith its newly developed FAS (fish migration screw) Rehart has attracted a lot of attention. It substantially facilitates fish migration and compliance

    with the related obligations.

The monitoring results from the pilot plant in the Lower Austrian Pilsing surpassed all

expectations. In addition to the huchen (80 cm), which is considered the “main fish spe-cies” in this river and the barbel (65 cm) even weak swimmers and crabs used the lift to reach the upstream of the river course. The subse-quent examination of all ascended fish did not reveal any injuries. Even the concerns of ecolo-gists that the fish would be afraid of the screw have not been substantiated. In a test a huchen was transported downstream several times af-ter it used the migration screw. Again and again it used the possibility of the convenient ascent by means of the “fish lift“.

The full functionality of the Rehart system was officially confirmed in spring by the depart-

ment of the Lower Austrian Land government responsible for water management.

Another FAS at Middle-Franconian Roth is un-der construction and is scheduled to be com-missioned in autumn 2015 to produce “green“ power and enable a convenient ascent for Fran-conian fish.

i Further information on FAS can be found in the REHARTPOWER website www.rehart-power.de under the sections “Series” and “References”.

REHART HYDROPOWER SCREW CONQUERS THE MOVIE SCREENIn April 2015 a film team of four of the produc-tion company Newslab, whose productions in-clude television programs for public broadca-sting stations such as ARD, ZDF or 3sat, visited a REHARTPOWER hydropower plant in the Jagst valley. Within the project “Leben mit der Energiewen-de” (Living with the energy transition) this is the third film by the author and director, Frank Fa-renski. This part – with its subtitle “Selber ma-chen” (Do it yourself) focuses on “small-scale hydropower“ and its potential. The Jagst valley plant was a perfect protagonist for Frank Faren-ski to show the functionality and advantages of a hydropower plant with detailed explanations by Christian Habermann, hydropower manager at Rehart. After visiting the hydropower screw further shots were taken in the production halls of Rehart GmbH in Ehingen, Germany. There it was demonstrated impressively how a hydropower screw with a weight of 16 tons

was lifted into the related trough. The managing di-rector, Klaus Schülein was able to point out impres-sively the success alrea-dy achieved, but also the considerable difficulties that have to be faced when it comes to the approval procedures for hydropower plants.

  • REHART AND MORTE – A PROMISING ALLIANCE

Early in 2015 the Spanish manufac-turer of extrusion dies Morte and the REHARTGROUP signed a coo-peration agreement.

Klaus Schülein, head of the REHARTGROUP pointed out: “Everything will be easier for our customers, since they will be provided from one source. We are convinced that we will be able to achieve success among the competition. We have demonstrated that on several occasions“. The German group and the Spanish manufac-turer of extrusion dies Morte are ideally set up to further optimize the sensitive interaction of extruder and extrusion die and thus comply with

pending quality requirements of their customers. The business areas go well together. The REHARTGROUP develops and optimizes sys-tems for structural ceramics on a worldwide le-vel; from preparation to shaping. Morte plays a leading role when it comes to the production of extrusion dies. Even the culture of both enterprises matches. Both are sound family businesses with decades of experience, a lot of expertise in the develop-ment and production, as well as a high level of brand awareness in their markets. The new Rehart portfolio for German-spea-king markets (D/A/CH plus Romania and Poland) comprises extrusion dies, extru-sion die washing machines and marking

wheels. In the market particular attention is at-tached to the modular extrusion dies. Due to its technical structure and the material used, the Spanish extrusion die technology is more wear- and abrasion-resistant. This is another advan-tage, particularly in comparison with the other extrusion dies offered in Germany.

i At Ceramitec the Morte stand (hall B2/booth 420) will be next to the stand of the

    REHARTGROUP.

By taking over the companies GNA and Schreiber Technology in summer 2014, the REHARTGROUP was able to considerably extend their product portfolio as regards wastewater technology. The continuation and extension of the entire Schreiber product portfolio was given a favora-ble reception by the existing customer base – at present some 1500 plants by Schreiber are ope-rative. In addition to auger and screw conveyors,

decanters, aeration systems and further compo-nents for wastewater treatment plants, all spare parts required for wastewater treatment plants by Schreiber are included in the range of products with immediate effect. Moreover the Rehart team offers the necessary servicing and operating support, if required also in line with support agreements which are parti-cularly suited to your demands and system.

The newly designed seal of quality and approval “made by REHARTGROUP” means that in future in our publications you will have a visual indica-tion that you can always count on the consistent quality and reliability in

processing your orders for REHARTGROUP pro-ducts and services.

The stamp-shaped seal combines the colors of the

companies consolidated in the Company Group:

Red for Rehart GmbH, our headquarters in Ehin-gen, and Rehart GmbH Thüringen, green for Pe-tersen Service GmbH in Netphen, turquoise for Rehart Power, the sector for hydropower plants and Archimedean screw pumps, and blue for Schreiber Technology – products for wastewater technology.

CHALLENGING PROJECT SUCCESSFULLY REALIZEDA new outfit for the REHARTGROUP website

Last year it wasn’t a hydropower plant, or an ex-truder or some worn auger that presented the Rehart Marketing team with the greatest challen-ge – it was the re-design and re-structuring of the company’s website.

Our Internet presence was certainly getting on years and our diversified and rapidly growing areas of operation meant that it was no longer clearly arranged and user-friendly. For this reason we wanted to design a new website which would consolidate all the companies and areas of ope-ration of the REHARTGROUP at one web address and still provide our visitors with the information they need quickly and easily.

Now we are proud to present the result of the nu-merous meetings, strenuous discussions and an enormous amount of programming work.In close cooperation with our advertising agency we think – and we hope you’ll agree – we have managed to achieve our goal and provide our cu-stomers and other interested parties with a well structured and clear information platform.

iWe’d be delighted to get your feedback – whether it’s praise or criticism – please send us

    your comments to [email protected]!

  • Nadja LexCutting machine operator trainee

A young woman and machining – does that really go together?

Yes, it does go together really well, but it’s not a job for “every” girl. As a rule, we girls are a bit more careful in such jobs and tend to want to have everything explained to us a couple of times – just to be on the safe side.

Do you feel ok in the male-dominated production at Rehart?

Yes, I feel very much at home. We always have something to laugh about and there’s no “bitching”.

And are you standing at your lathe during your leisure time, too?

(Laughs) Sure, just like all my colleagues – we all have one in our living room.

    Nadine HutmannBusiness administration trainee

Business administration clerk – A job you’ve always dreamed of?

I always wanted to work in an office. So training to be a business administration clerk sounded good. Here I’m not limited to one department and so I can “get a taste” for various departments and be an active part of the team.

How did you land at Rehart?

I knew the name Rehart, as a friend of my family works here. I found a vacancy advertisement in the Internet and simply applied – and it worked!

What do you do when you’re not at your desk at Rehart?

If the weather’s good I’m out and about with my friends. We often go to the open-air swimming pool or the bathing pond in our village.

GIRL POWER AT REHARTThree questions to our female trainees and a special hobby

Building up a business enterprise is just as creative as painting a picture or writing a book.

Phil Knight, Founder and CEO of Nike (Sportswear)

    Christa Schülein, Marketing

Along these lines, my husband and I decided on a “division of labor”. He’s building up the business enterprise (I did actually help a little), but after he gave me a gift voucher for my birth-day some years ago, this brought me to art and painting. To begin with, I wasn’t exactly overjoyed with my birthday pre-

sent – I thought, I can’t paint and starting at my age… However, I’ve since found out that it`s never too late to learn. I was really lucky and found a wonderful teacher who still guides me and encourages me in my passion for painting. Painting is a challenge and forces me to learn to look at things very closely, which is also a valuable working method in other spheres of life. It is a wonderful, creative counter-balance to the day-to-day work at my desk. I’ve also recognized that it’s only important that I like my art. At the same time, when I do open up my art to the public, I’m also revealing something very private about myself. Art for me means discovering what is special, also in everyday life.
