Lancelets live in sandy bottoms

They live in shallow seawater.

They live in protected coastal beaches.

Urochordata tunicates (habitat) You can find them

deep in the water.

Facts ! Lancelets use cilia to draw water into their

pharynx through there mouth. Lancelets swim weakly. Food particles in the water are trapped as

the water passes through the numerous slits in the pharynx.

There bodies are covered by a tough covering or tunic.

Tunicates squirt out a stream of water when touched.

Tunicates are adapted for filter feeding. Food is filtered by the pharynx moves into

the stomach.

Urochordata- are members of the subphylum Tunicata or Urochordata, a group of underwater saclike filter feeders with incurrent and excurrent siphons that is classified within the phylum Chordata.
