well i made it here just fine... i got in at about 940, right on time... had no problems getting through customs. Stopped at the duty free liquor store and picked up a bottle of Johnny Walker for $14... bren- dan was at the airport (whew!) and he had a nice warm Imperial (lo- cal beer that tastes like Miller, mmmmm) He had a taxi and we headed off towards the hostel. Brendan is still crazy, he now has an accent that sounds Jamacian.. it fits him well. He had Melissa with him, whom i believe is a “friend” of his.. we came back to the hostel and i got a bunk for three nights ($9) per night which is pretty good in San Jose it has a pool, free internet a big screen tv, hammocks etc. While i was unpacking Brendaand met a kid from Germany (Michael) who came out for beers. We walked down the street and Brendan rolled up a joint. we stood outside the bar and smoked. then when it was time to go into the bar, i took a step off the sidewalk and fell about 4 feet down it had nothing to do with the joint I swear it was a drain that had no cov- er on it, i hvae no idea why i didn’t look i guess i’m just used to the states So i scraped up my knee a bit and had i been normal height would have smacked my bottom jar on the sidewalk it was that deep all’s well though we went into the bar and drank it was a darkish type bar kind of gothy but not really. they played a lot of depeche mode and techno mixed gringo music. it was really loud so after a few beers we went to the next bar...
