17 18 19 Finish Start your stroll at the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau (239 S. Beverly Drive). In case you hadn’t noticed, you’re on “SoBev” (South Beverly Drive) where locals and celebrities shop and dine! Want to feel like you’re part of Entourage? Pop down to Urth Caffé (267 S. Beverly Drive) and “do lunch” just like the “boys” in the blockbuster HBO series. Head one long block south (bearing left as you do) and peek in at the Avalon Hotel (9400 W. Olympic Blvd. just east of S. Beverly Drive), featured in the Oscar-winning film, Dreamgirls. Before it became a hotel, it was an apartment building with none other than Marilyn Monroe as a tenant! Now turn around and walk north again on South Beverly. As you head north, stop by the charming boutique, Harmony Lane (189 S. Beverly Drive), and you’ll soon be sportin’ the same style as Eva Longoria and Jessica Alba. Continue north to Wilshire Boulevard and take a left until you reach the Beverly Wilshire (9500 Wilshire Boulevard), a Beverly Hills landmark. For some, a hotel – for others, a “residence.” Elvis Presley called it home while filming several movies, and Warren Beatty lived here for 10 years in his bachelor days. People from all over the world still flock to this hotel where Pretty Woman was filmed. Tucked inside the hotel are two exceptional restaurants – The Blvd and Wolfgang Puck’s first steakhouse, CUT – perfect for a little people-watching. Perhaps you’ll be seated at the same table where Hollywood A-listers (Brad & Angelina, Tom & Katie, Will & Jada) have dined before. Cross the street to Two Rodeo on Rodeo Drive. Recognize the cobblestone Via Rodeo path from the chase scene in Hollywood Homicide with Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett? Or perhaps it’s more familiar to you from the TV series, Nip/Tuck? Drop into Jimmy Choo (240 N. Rodeo Drive) where Jessica Simpson and Beyonce shop for sassy, designer shoes. Slip into a pair of your own and keep walkin’! Continuing north on Rodeo Drive, you’ll find you’re smack dab in the middle of the playground to the stars. With Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada on your left (did we just pass Mariah Carey with a Gucci handbag on her arm?), and Harry Winston, Michael Kors and Chanel to your right, the world is your oyster. As you head north to the 400 block of Rodeo Drive, look for the classic, tailored style of Brooks Brothers (468 N. Rodeo Drive). Bet you didn’t know that, in this store, Ashton Kutcher was fitted for a wedding suit. Yes, the one he wore at his marriage to Demi Moore.

OTHER NOTABLE VENUES WORTH A VISIT: For outdoor dining and a little “star” gazing, Canon’s the drive : Via Alloro (Italian) 301 N. Canon Drive, Xi’an Restaurant (Chinese) 362 N. Canon Drive, Il Pastaio Restaurant (Italian) 400 N. Canon Drive, Porta Via Restaurant (Italian) 424 N. Canon Drive, La Scala Restaurant (Italian) 434 N. Canon Drive. You’re sure to recognize these famous backdrops: The Beverly Hilton |Home of the annual Golden Globe Awards | 9876 Wilshire Blvd., Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences |Home of all things “Oscar” | 8949 Wilshire Blvd., Greystone Mansion |Location for numerous feature film shoots| 905 Loma Vista Dr. Imbibe at these celeb hangouts: Bar210/plush Lounge (at The Beverly Hilton) |True to it’s name, it’s plush | 9876 Wilshire Blvd., Bar Nineteen12 at The Beverly Hills Hotel (Mojito jelly shots in every flavor |9641 Sunset Blvd., Crustacean Restaurant |The “must have” garlic noodles |9646 S. Santa Monica Blvd.

If the All-American “chop house” is more to your liking, then cross Wilshire Boulevard at Barneys New York and veer to the right on Dayton Way. Immediately on your right, duck into The Grill on the Alley (9560 Dayton Way). Some of the biggest deals in Hollywood, brokered by some of the most powerful names in the entertainment industry (think Sumner Redstone, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Brian Grazer), are “hashed out” over lunch. Steaks, chops, chicken pot pie? Who knew?

Feeling a little weary at this point? Consider a stop at Mr. Chow (344 N. Camden Drive just a half block north of Barneys New York) where you could be rubbing shoulders with Jerry Bruckheimer or Paris Hilton. Waitstaff here take the guesswork out of ordering – just tell them your favorite foods, and you’re sure to be served the most mouthwatering Asian delicacies.

As you leave Anastasia, head south again on Bedford until you reach Wilshire Boulevard. There in front of you – the “titans” of shop-ping. To your right, Neiman Marcus (9700 Wilshire Boulevard), directly ahead, Saks Fifth Avenue (9600 Wilshire Boulevard) and to your left Barneys New York (9570 Wilshire Boulevard). Imagine running into Victoria Beckham or Katie Holmes as you head in to explore any one of these fashion meccas – it could happen! Just around the corner (south on Bedford Drive), the “definitive eyebrow expert,” Anastasia makes her home at 438 N. Bedford Drive. Anastasia has shaped and created the highly sought-after looks of celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and Oprah. Keep your wits about you – there’s more to see! Take a left as you leave Nic’s and another left at S. Santa Monica Boulevard. The now famous confectionary, Sprinkles Cupcakes (9635 S. Santa Monica Boulevard), is ahead (just before Bedford Drive). You’ve seen them on Oprah and Dr. Phil. Now it’s your turn to indulge in red velvet, peanut butter chocolate or any of their other scrumptious cupcake varieties. A U-turn and three blocks will bring you back to the top of Canon Drive and Nic’s (453 N. Canon Drive), frequented by the likes of Demi and Ashton and celebrated for their martini offerings in just about every flavor imaginable. But the real draw is owner Larry Nicola’s one-of-a-kind Vodbox – an “icebox” cooler featuring a selection of exotic vodkas from all over the world. Once you reach Canon Drive, your choices are many. Turn to the right and in half a block, you’ll land at Celebrity Vault (345 N. Canon Drive) chock full of celebrity memorabilia. Recent exhibits have showcased timeless photos of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. Another two blocks south, and you’re standing in front of one of Beverly Hills’ hottest and most fa-mous restaurants – Spago (176 N. Canon Drive). This quintessential and iconic dining establishment regularly draws celebrity clientele like Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and Sidney Poitier, it’s true, but Spago has stood the test of time because of its reputation for amazing and innovative classic California cuisine. When you reach the end of the block (corner of Beverly Drive and Brighton Way), turn left and head east on Brighton Way. Almost immediately you’ll spot CRIB Style for Kids (9435 Brighton Way) on your left – Marcia Cross, Mariska Hargitay and Courtney Cox have all been drawn in by this hip, fresh clothing boutique for kids.

Continuing south on Beverly Drive, take note of the various food and drink options available to you. Indulge in dinner and cocktails at the super sleek Aqua Restaurant and Lounge (424 N. Beverly Drive). Guests have been known to rub elbows with the likes of Queen Latifah and to hear musical riffs from actor, Jeff Goldblum, or rock guitarist, Jeff Beck. If this is more of a morning stroll, consider breakfast at Beverly Hills mainstay, Nate n’ Al’s (414 N. Beverly Drive). After 60+ years in the business, no one does deli better – “regulars” Larry King and Mike Myers will attest to that. Perhaps you’re looking to take a little taste of Beverly Hills home with you? Check out The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills (419 N. Beverly Drive) where celebrities and locals alike love to sample the tremendous selection of domestic and imported gourmet cheeses. If it’s good enough for Barbra Streisand and Nicholas Cage, . . .

Pop around the corner (turn right), and you’ll find yourself at The Paley Center for Media (465 N. Beverly Drive). Guests have access to nearly 150,000 archived radio and television programs held in this extensive library. Play your cards right and you might also have the opportunity to attend one of the many screenings and “celeb” panel discussions. Recent Paley events have brought together the cast and creative team for television classics like The Carol Burnett Show and Family Ties and more recent programs like Lost and ER.
