EDUCATIONAL MULTIPLICATION APPS

These apps are being evaluated to be used on the iPod touches

available at my school. We have students that need to practice their multiplication facts on an individual basis. These two apps are free and will address the TEKs for 5th grade

math to be able to complete multiplication problems involving more than one step. It will also

cover the Technology TEK of use of various technology devices.

“BAD choice if words by melirose It says perfect when you get an answer correct which is nice, but it uses the word BAD when you get it wrong. The app is okay but younger kids learning multiplication shouldn't have to hear they are bad or they made a bad choice. What about TRY AGAIN or INCORRECT. “

Recommendation

For the benefit of the students I would recommend the Awesome Flashcards Multiplication, because it test all multiplication facts. It has the ability to test more complex problems and the Sound, if turned on, is repetitive for each part of the problem. This helps the student to get in a rhythm.

The Multiplication Genius doesn’t test all facts in the free version, the sounds are very annoying, and you can’t turn them off.
