Founders Rym Tounsi and Zied Youssef share a passion for their cultural heritage. but also a belief that design-lovers from other continents deserve to enjoy a modern take on traditional products. because when you love something there is nothing better than sharing it with others.

To get that perfect mix and make their vision reality, Rym and Zied work with talented Swedish designers Anna backlund and Elisabeth dunker. The result of this thrilling cooperation is house of Rym – the place where ancient Tunisian handcrafts and contemporary Scandinavian design fall head over heels. In love.

T e x T i l e sFoutas were originally used as hammam towels in the traditional Turkish baths and were essential accessories for women during the Ottoman Empire. Today, more than a thousand years later the fouta has even more uses. It’s a luxurious bath towel, it’s a shawl, it’s a wrap, it’s a plaid, it’s a bed cover, it’s a tablecloth; it’s almost anything you want it to be. but most of all it’s an essential home accessory.Our foutas are made of 100% natural cotton, hand woven on métiers à Tisser (weaving looms) just like the original hammam towels. They are machine-washable and we recommend washing them twice before use for perfect absorbency and softness.

We believe in recycling and sustainability is an important watchword for house of Rym. hence, we create brand new products made of old handmade kilim rugs, giving beautiful but forgotten items new life.

Our olive wood collection is a piece of home accessory heaven. Each item is unique and made by hand. All products come from sustainably certified olive trees. This guarantees that the trees no longer bear harvestable fruit. Each tree is replaced with a sampling from a local nursery.
