Aircraft grade aluminum is exclusively used in the con-struction of the lightweight and rigid Zero S. twin spar

frame. One look at the frame and it speaks for itself. It is aggressive, strong and one of the main reasons that the Zero S. can take on anything in an urban environment. Using Zero Motorcycles’ proprietary Z-Force power pack and aircraft grade alloy frame, the Zero S. features an industry leading power-to-weight ratio that increases its range and maneuverability.

The Zero DS wheels are engineered to minimize unsprung weight and reduce rotating mass. Designed specifically for the Zero DS, the lightweight construction includes custom hubs, spokes, and rotors. To maximize overall wheel strength the hub is configured to use straight pull spokes. The resulting wheel is lighter, stronger and more responsive.

The dash is designed by Zero to quickly and accurately provide information on speed, charge and motor temperature. In the evening the dash lights up with the flip of a switch and is accompanied by a high intensity headlight. * Digital and analog speed display * Motor temperature

A compact and powerful motor drives the Zero DS. The new Z-Force Air Induction system allows the Zero DS to output more power from the motor by efficiently moving air through its core. Mounted low on the frame to increase maneuverability, the highly efficient motor lowers the center of gravity while providing high torque and acceleration.

Powered by the most advanced drive train in the industry, the Zero DS is a fully electric motorcycle that can handle any surface you can throw at it. Navigating obstacles and maintaining control is ac-complished using a specially developed suspension system and a rugged wheel set. During technical maneuvers an optimized direct drive gear system delivers astonishing responsiveness with the twist of your wrist.

At the core of the Zero MX lies the ultimate dirt bike frame that we’ve engineered from the ground up and hand crafted us-ing aircraft grade aluminum. The resulting combination of lower weight and higher strength means more responsiveness. In the turns and off the line this translates into greater acceleration. To make the frame even more durable each one is shot-peened and anodized.

To accommodate the Zero MX’s increased traction and ability to accelerate in the dirt we use a hardened steel 420 chain and direct drive gearing. The result is a stronger and more durable drivetrain that puts the power from the throttle directly into the dirt.

We want you to be able to take full advantage of the rapid acceleration the Zero MX has to offer. To do this we’ve taken our riders’ handling wish list and built in the features. The result, this electric dirt bike gives you the control you need to for the accel-eration you want.

Because you’ll be going faster and harder on our electric dirt bike we’ve added a few things to help slow you down. The 2010 Zero MX electric motorcycle features beefier brakes all around.

Years of development in our proprietary Z-Force™ technology make Zero Mo-

torcycles a leader in acceleration, range and longevity. Our fast chargers are completely automatic and use a specially developed charge profile to optimize charge times. You can leave your battery on the charger for hours, days, even months (if you are away from home). It’s ready to go when you are and plugs into any standard 110 or 220 volt outlet.

Electricity is a very clean and efficient form of energy. Although there is some pollution associated with the production of electricity, a Zero motorcycle will produce less than one-eighth of the CO2 pollution per mile at the power plant than a gas powered motorcycle. It will also produce 1/100th of the smog causing nitrous oxides.

frames are engineered to combine high strength with low weight. Each frame is made using 100% aircraft grade aluminum. Developed using cutting edge computer aided design software, the entire Zero X frame weighs only 13 pounds and the Zero S. weighs only 18 pounds. Zero Motorcycles frames are welded by the world’s most highly skilled aluminum welders. Critical areas are ensured against failure using double pass welds and other techniques After welding, the entire frame is heat treated to restore the strength around the weld areas. The treatment process involves heating the frame in a furnace and then submerging it in a solution-bath to quench the hot metal.Finally, critical areas such as pivots, brake mounts, and chain-guide mounts are re-milled for absolute accuracy.
