WHAT IS CATALINA ISLAND?

HOW DO I GET THERE?

You can travel to Catalina Island by boat. There are several ferry services that will take you the capital city, Avalon. The boat ride costs on average $30 and lasts from 1 to 2 hours. Highlights of the trip include dolphin, whale, and flying fish sightings.

private flight to the famous Catalina Island

Airport, one of the only airports in the world built on top of a

mountain.

WHERE TO STAY

Catalina has many exquisite

hotels, some of which are on or near the beach. Nothing is comparable to being woken in the morning by the revitalizing scent of sea

air; or the sound of fresh waves venting their fury on the beach.

One such hotel is the Pavilion Hotel, which, as visitors claim, is located

“feet from the beach”. A helpful staff ensures that the rooms are

well furnished and the beautiful scenery is a must-see.

Other recommended hotels include the Avalon Hotel and El Terado Terrace.

DINING

Santa Catalina Island has some exceptional food to try out, including mouthwatering seafood directly from the ocean.

Catalina is known for its signature Mexican dishes, especially those

ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES

Catalina has a myriad of things to on and around the island. Snorkeling and diving with sharks are among the island’s most popular activities. Scuba diving and

kayaking are also available.

Hiking around Avalon is allowed with a permit, as most of Catalina is restricted due to laws of preservation. The island is

one of the most relaxing vacation spots in the world, framed as

it is by the azure ocean.

The island also has many stunning beaches, covered in shining white sand. It’s well known for its rich kelp forests that ring the islands, inside which otters and seals reside.
