Hidden Silicon

Our silicone design takes into account the need for improved energy efficiency whilst retaining period aesthetics with only a discrete silicone bead surrounding the glass units.

External Putty bead Design

Our purpose made external mould detail has been designed to give the impression of an external putty bead with its angle and shadow groove. Importantly security has not been

compromised with internal beading being retained.

Internal Ovolvo Mouldings

These add another important aesthetic feature with their elegant profiling.

Slim Frame Sections

In order to optimise glass areas and to retain period styling, The Traditional Range utilises slim frame sections.

Casement Windows

butler-bowler.co.uk

Our flush casements retain traditional design whilst packing in all the modern benefits of weather proofing, security & energy efficiency. This includes larger rebates to accommodate double or triple glazing, draught sealing and high security multi-point locking hardware. As with all our windows the timber used is multi-layered, engineered timber and as standard the windows are double glazed with argon filled 24mm units (Ug value of 1.1W/m2K).

We manufacture two styles of flush casement, the performance window which has a higher spec in that it is able to house triple glazing and accept aluminium cladding and our conservation window which has very unique styling that you will not find anywhere else.

The slim line sashes are set back in the moulded frame which enhances the appearance of the windows and adds to the design of your property. With doors to match our conservation windows are unmatched for beauty and quality.

Tilt & Turn Windows

Our tilt and turn casement option has been developed & tested to meet ‘Passiv Haus Standard’. If you are requiring optimum performance this is the solution you require.

This window combines perfect performance parameters and a very low heat transfer coefficient. The overall heat transfer coefficient value for the test window achieved Uw = 0,8 W/m2K, which means that the window can be used for high performance eco house construction.

The design also provides increased acoustic performance which insulates 34-db as standard with an option to sound insulate up to 42-db with enhanced glazing options.

Features

High performance German WINKHAUS Tilt & turn hinges fitted to allow for maximum performance and durability. The tilt position allows the window to hinge from the bottom and partially open for ventilation and the turn allows the window to fully open from the side. Locking handles are fitted as standard in a range of finishes. A concealed ventilation system can be incorporated for compliance with Part L. Our high performance paints and stains will maximise the life of your windows allowing maximum duration between maintenance. Unlike re-painting in the past the re-application of finish does not require laborious scraping and sanding. Modern micro-porous paint systems allow the timber to breathe preserving the integrity of the wood. When the time comes a light sanding over the window will provide a key to reapply the top coat.

About Us We have a formidable portfolio of designs to offer: some have been included on this website though space and commercial consideration have kept us mindful of the need for brevity. This being said, even in our broader catalogue of designs, you still might not find the joinery component that perfectly suits the needs of your project. Don`t be disheartened, the chances are that we will be able to custom build a solution for any realistic concept that you, or your architect, might conceive. About UsOur design team, working both traditionally and with the latest computer modelling techniques are at your disposal for that special item for which a supplier might be difficult to find. Our methods are straightforward yet thorough. We work in many dimensions when approaching a conceptual design, not merely "lenght, breadth and depth": the element of time is integral to any joinery construction. How long will it last? What is the likely maintenance schedule? What materials might age most sympathetically with the item`s surroundings? Thought is also devoted to another important factors, e.g. how would the item best be transported to site? What is the least disruptive and most simple method of installation? What guidance might the fitting team require? An apparently cost effective design may fall down on any of these points and push your budgets into the red both in terms of money and time. We consider our duty to think about these points on your behalf and to advise accordingly.
