Meet the right buyers among industry professionals from around the world The 2014 fair achieved a 10% increase in visitors compared with 2013, with 43,189 buyers attending. Home textiles buyers now are looking for carpets to enhance the comprehensive home furnishing. 5% of these buyers expressed interest in carpets and rugs. What’s more, among all visitors, 14% were retailers including chain stores, department stores and franchisees.
In addition to the majority of visitors from China, there was also a strong number of buyers from Japan, Korea, the US, Russia and the Middle East.
2014 exhibitor feedback
This year has been good as there were a lot of new buyers as well as our previous customers visiting us who placed repeat orders. This fair is definitely a good platform to access the Chinese market. As a carpet manufacturer it’s beneficial for us to be here; carpets & rugs are a more luxury item in China so being at this fair we get to see more high-end buyers as opposed to other fairs we go to. Chinese buyers appreciate the hand-made quality of our carpets & rugs too.

We’re here to look for Chinese buyers and the demand is definitely here. Chinese consumers are using carpets & rugs for home decoration. A lot of buyers are saying they like our products so it’s seems to be good to be at a full home textiles fair with our carpets & rugs. I’m expecting a good result to come from the fair.

Over 200 media from 27 countries and regions publicised the exhibition during the year, not only attracting more industry professionals from different locations to the fair, but also extending the publicity opportunities for exhibitors beyond the exhibition period.

Carpet Zone
Carpets are now not only used as a functional item, but also as one of the decorative items within the whole-home design. Taking advantage of the rising demand for quality hand-made carpets, the fair introduced the Carpet Zone as one of the featured areas which was widely welcomed by buyers. In 2014, carpet exhibitors from Pakistan and India showcased their products at the fair.
Quality products furnish the perfect home
Editor Zone
International editors brought with them their premium upholstery brands and showcased their latest collections at the fair. Their presence showed the demand for quality and premium products in China.
Bedding and towelling
Bedding and towelling products is another major category of the fair, in addition to upholstery fabrics. These exhibitors are optimistic about the finished product market in China.
Wallcovering Zone
A new featured product zone in the fair shows the rising demand in decorative products.
The Chinese domestic market is further developing towards a whole-home design pattern which has led to a predominance of one-stop buying habits. Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is an international exhibition with a growing diversity of exhibitors and products, and is not only a key event in the home textile industry, but has also become a comprehensive business platform for the entire soft decoration industry as well.
