Major Tracks Information Media Production Track This track focuses on preparing students for a wide range ofcareers in the electronic media industry Students are ready to enter the industry once they havecompleted this course Media Studies Track This track focuses on mass communication, it highlights coursesin media management, analysis and creative writing. Students who pursue the Media Studies Track teaches you tocritically examine all types of media - includingfilm, television, advertising, journalism and digital media - tounderstand how it impacts, and is impacted by society. 4. Major Tracks Information Human Communication Studies Track- This Tracks focus on organizational, interpersonal andintercultural communication uniquely prepares studentsfor being desired by employers in a wide variety ofbusiness contexts. It focuses on skills in one-on-one, small group, public andmedia environments in the workplace as well. Journalism/Public Relations Track- Students learn the ins and outs of journalism and publicrelations principles, including the traditions, issues andtheories underlying both fields. The Job Interview: Before TheInterview Practice what and how youre going to communicate to the person interviewing you. Pick out a sharp outfit suitable for the interview. Make sure you know how youre getting to the interview so you dont arrive late. Stay calm and collective. Get a good nights rest and eat a proper breakfast in the morning. 13. The Job Interview: During The Interview Be polite; listen carefully and donot interrupt. When answering questions beconfident and always behonest. Keep a good posture weatheryou are sitting or standing. Dont be afraid to smile. Have questions ready to ask atthe end of the interview. 14. Benefits in majoring in communication forcareer opportunities Jobs in communication are widespread and provide communication majors moreopportunities. Opportunities outside of communication fields are available forgraduates, (McManus,T.,2011,p.17). Basic communication skills are important for any type of job and relations in that job. Social media impacts our society as a whole leads to more roles for communicators for ourfuture, (McManus,T.,2011,p.17). Federal agencies are known for employing many people with communication majors 17. College graduates with jobs incommunication Job market for graduates of communication programs have improved between 2010 and2011, (Becker,L.B.,Vlad,T.,&Kazragis,W.,2011,p.3). 2010-68.5% of graduates had at least one joboffer,(Becker,L.B.,Vlad,T.,&Kazragis,W.,2011,p.4). 2010-49.8% of bachelors degrees reported having full timejobs, (Becker,L.B.,Vlad,T.,&Kazragis,W.,2011,p.5).
