• The self unique property of carbon atoms through the covalent bond formed by straight or branched chains and rings of different sizes is known as catenation.

CATENATION

Saturated compounds:- Compounds of carbon which have only single covalent bonds

between the carbon atoms are called saturated compounds.

Unsaturated compounds:- Compounds of carbon which contain one or more double or triple bonds between the carbon atoms is called unsaturated compounds.
