carbon and its compounds
TRANSCRIPT
The phenomena of existence of an element in two or more forms which have different physical properties but chemical properties are same that is called allotropy and the different forms are called allotropic forms.
• The self unique property of carbon atoms through the covalent bond formed by straight or branched chains and rings of different sizes is known as catenation.
CATENATION
Saturated compounds:- Compounds of carbon which have only single covalent bonds
between the carbon atoms are called saturated compounds.
Unsaturated compounds:- Compounds of carbon which contain one or more double or triple bonds between the carbon atoms is called unsaturated compounds.
