Captain Robert E. Nisbet United States Navy CAPTAIN ROBERT EARL NISBET UNITED STATES NAVY Captain R. E. Nisbet is a native of Terre Haute, Indiana, and a graduate of Indiana State University. He was commissioned an Ensign from Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island, in February 1967, and in June of that year reported for duty at Naval Security Group Activity Edzell, Scotland. A second European tour followed with duty as Executive Officer and Operations Officer at Naval Security Group Activity San Vito de Normanni, Italy from 1969 to 1970. In September of 1970 Captain Nisbet became Cryptologic Division Officer aboard USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67). He began his tour shortly before the ship deployed to the Mediterranean Sea in response to the 1970 Jordanian Crisis. A second 10 month deployment to the Mediterranean followed in 1971-1972. He returned to shore duty with assignment to Staff, Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. While there, he worked in Signals Security and as the Surface Cryptologic Direct Support Officer. Additional staff duty at Commander, Naval Security Group Command Headquarters followed from 1975 to 1978. ') ) In 1979, Captain Nisbet entered graduate school at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, for study that led to a Master's Degree in Systems Technology (Electronic Warfare) in 1981. He completed four years of duty in Hawaii from 1981 to 1985, first as Fleet Cryptologist on the Staff, Commander, U.S. Third Fleet for two years and then as Cryptologic Operations Officer on the Staff, Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet. In September 1985, Captain Nisbet reported for duty as Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Security Group Activity, Naples, Italy. Personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with Gold Star, and the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal. Captain Nisbet is married to the former Mary Florence Halligan of Drogheda, Ireland.

Captain R. E. Nisbet is a native of Terre Haute, Indiana,and a graduate of Indiana State University.
