SUTER’S SUMMER CAMP 2018Suter’s Hockey Camp 2016, in its 21st year, will be held at Capitol Ice in Middleton, WI. We offer camps for Mites(RWB) – Bantam aged players. This year there will be 2 sessions(2 weeks) of camp offered for Mites(RWB)/Squirts, July 23-26 & July 30-Aug 2. Skaters can participate in one or choose both weeks and receive a $75 disc off your total price. The Third week will be for Peewee/Bantam, Aug 6-9. Our focus is on fundamentals and team play so each individual can improve their skills, gain confidence and agility, and become a valued and respected team player. Our goal is that you take away from our camp the skills necessary to be a better all-around player.

Meet Some Of The COACHING STAFF…

Gary Suter17-year NHL Defenseman with the Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks. 1986 NHL Rookie of the Year, 5-time NHL All-Star Defensemen, Olympic Silver Medalist and a member of U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. 2 time Olympian as a member of the 1998 and 2002 US teams. Also a member of US team that won 1996 World Cup of Hockey. Played in 1,145 career NHL games accumulating 845 points.

Bob Suter – “ Always In Our Hearts” (1957-2014) Member of the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team and UW-Madison 1977 NCAA Championship team. Has coached youth hockey in the Madison area for 28 years; served as head coach, East High School. Was the main engine in getting Capitol Ice built, was President of Madison Capitols AAA and is responsible for giving a countless number of hockey players from the Madison area an opportunity they may have never had.

Ryan SuterFormer Capitol AAA player. 7th overall pick in the 03 NHL draft to the Nashville Predators. Played 7 seasons for the Nashville Predators where he was a important part of getting them their first playoff appearance and series win in franchise history. Was Assistant Captain for the 2010 U.S. Olympic Silver Medal team and an assistant Captain on the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team. Was just named to the 2016 World Cup Team. He has played over 830 games in the NHL accumulating 396 points. 4 time All-Start, considered by most to be one of the best if not the best defensemen in World. Currently a member of the Minnesota Wild.

Garrett SuterFormer Capitols AAA player. Played for Green Bay/Waterloo from 04-07. Was a captain at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. He went on to play in the ECHL and AHL. Garrett was the head coach of the Madison Capitols U18 team for four years as well as the President of the entire AAA program for the past three years to now. His current coaching role is the Head Coach and General Manager of the Madison Capitols which competes in the USHL which is the top Tier 1 junior league in North America and out of come some of the best players in Division on hockey all the way up to the NHL.

Blake HietilaFormer Ojibiwa Eagle in his AAA days. Played in the NAHL for Bismark and USHL for Cedar Rapids. He then played 4 years at Michigan Tech. From there he went on to play several years Pro in the SPHL & ECHL. He’s retired and is currently the Assitant Coach/Director of Scouting for the Madison Capitols(USHL).

Jake SuterFormer Madison AAA player. He played for the Sioux City Musketeers in the USHL for 10-11 season. He then played 4 years at UMass Lowell from 2011-2015 in 153 games. He played in France for one season and currently is an Assistant Coach/Assistant General Manager for the Madison Capitols(USHL).

Luke McElhenieFormer Capitols AAA Player. Played for the Madison Capitols in the USHL from 2014-2016 where he scored the first goal in Franchise history. Was a Freshman at the University of UMass Amhurst last season.
