OUR KEY PEOPLE
As a business associated with such a volatile and harmful mineral it is
important to acknowledge the pain and suffering the mass production
of this material has caused.
Asbestos related diseases are not a "problem of the past". In fact, the rates
of terminal illness related to asbestos exposure in Australia are continuing
to rise, due largely to lack of education and a common DIY attitude. As a
result, we are proud to be advocates of asbestos disease awareness and
support to the following societies/foundations:
• AsbestosWise
• Asbestos & Mesothelioma Association of Australia
• Asbestos Diseases Foundation of Australia
In addition to supporting these worthy causes we regularly alert our potential
customers to the very real dangers of asbestos exposure through awareness campaigns in all of our marketing collateral
including regular social media posts, website updates, press releases, radio reads, print advertisements and direct mail
campaigns.
We are ambassadors for National Asbestos Awareness month in Australia (November) annually.
In addition to campaigns along with electronic and print materials being distributed on a regular basis, Zero Asbestos
regularly donate their time and money to closely related events and causes.
Below are two local events we have supported in recent years –
• WHSQ (Workplace Health & Safety QLD) "Safe Work Month" Sponsorship
Big Breakfast in King George Square (Brisbane) with guest MC Shane Webcke
• "Walk for Asbestos Awareness"
Supporting Trevor Gillmeister in Mooloolaba shortly before the end of his 1400km walk from Townsville to
Brisbane
ASBESTOS DISEASE SUPPORT
AT ZERO ASBESTOS WE HAVE 6 CORE VALUES THAT SHAPE EVERYTHING WE DO
• Safety • Outstanding Service • Dynamic
• Honesty • Human • Passionate
SAFETY
It all starts with safety because we know that
asbestos work involves some of the highest risk
activities that can be undertaken at any workplace,
anywhere in Australia.
At Zero Asbestos we are committed to the safety of
everyone who enters one of our work sites. We are
proudly 4801 Safety Certified and we are striving for
zero incidents on all of our sites, every day.
Our operations team create in-depth site-specific
Safe Work Method Statements and Control Plans
for every job undertaken, no matter the size, and
all of our site staff are A-Class certified, ensuring
our work is completed to the highest safety
standards.
OUR CORE VALUES
With safety taken care of, the next area
of focus for us is outstanding service. To
be ‘outstanding’, we must be remarkable and impressive and that’s our goal here at Zero Asbestos. We
strive to go that extra mile to inspire our
staff, exceed the expectations of our
clients and get that ‘WAHOO’ reaction from others.
Being accountable is infused into our
company culture. We expect our team
members to be accountable for their
actions and the role they play in
contributing to our clients’ experience.
We operationalize this by empowering
all of our employees to think about
things from the perspective of the client
and then act on those thoughts as if the
business was their own.
We also understand that the word
‘asbestos’ can be a scary thing to hear
and that’s why we undertake each and
every job with compassion and
understanding. We try to educate our
clients to ease their concerns and
endeavour to make their experience
with asbestos as stress free as possible.
OUTSTANDING SERVICE
DYNAMIC
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ZERO ASBESTOS?
CHANGE, PROGRESS, IDEAS, INNOVATION AND ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
No two customers or jobs are the same, which is why at Zero Asbestos we rely on our people to
provide dynamic customer service. By being innovative, our employees who are faced with problems are able to act on
their own, coming up with solutions that will suit the client.
We believe that creativity is no longer a skill held only by the marketing department - it is our frontline employees at
Zero Asbestos who often come up with the best client solutions beyond the confines of a boardroom table. Extend
innovation across our whole organisation and the result is being progressive and creating solutions before problems
arise.
At Zero Asbestos we understand that our clients like their projects to be treated as if they are unique, and that’s because they are. For this to happen, our Zero Asbestos employees realise that their customer service needs to be unique in
approach. We believe that clients will choose an organisation to do business with based on their unique point of
difference, and for Zero Asbestos, our point of difference is our dynamic and knowledgeable employees.
HONESTY
We are as good as our word and do the right thing, regardless of whether others can see it or not and that is our next
value… honesty! At Zero Asbestos, we believe that to be truly successful in business and in life, we must always be honest
and open with our clients, our suppliers, our associates, our employees and our peers.
We believe that openness and honesty builds the best relationships and being open and honest is a big part of what
differentiates Zero Asbestos from others. Strong relationships allow us to accomplish much more than we would be able
to otherwise.
Here at Zero Asbestos we believe that it is important to always act with integrity, to be compassionate, friendly, loyal;
and to make sure that we do the right thing and treat our clients, peers, leaders and employees professionally.
We embrace diversity in thoughts, opinions, and backgrounds. We always listen with sincerity and give new ideas equal
ground on which to stand and be tested. The more widespread and diverse our relationships are, the bigger the positive
impact we can make on our clients and our community.
We want everyone to always try to go the extra mile in encouraging thorough, complete, and effective communication.
The hardest thing to do is to build trust, but if the trust exists, you can accomplish so much more.
HUMAN
Our next value is HUMAN and at Zero Asbestos we emphasise the value
of teamwork and encourage our staff to collaborate as they focus on a common team
goal to help maximize their effectiveness. We are constantly evolving and helping our employees
to grow and develop their skills.
Recognition is critical in all businesses, regardless of size or industry. It fulfills a basic need to feel appreciated and fuels
employee motivation. We believe it helps achieve goals based on behaviours described through our values to impact
our company and clients.
We know that while a degree of friendly competition among our staff members can be healthy, our company benefits
most when everyone is working together smoothly as a team. As the old saying goes
"THERE IS NO 'I' IN TEAM"
There may not be an "I" in team, but there is most certainly a "we" in well-balanced. Successful teamwork balances
employees' skills with the needs of the organization, resulting in a winning environment for the entire company, but
that's only half the story.
Our leaders here at Zero Asbestos understand the importance of maintaining team harmony and putting people in
positions where they can succeed. By knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each employee, we assign tasks, duties
and responsibilities more effectively, all while emphasizing the value of collaboration, mutual support and team
cohesion.
RICHARD AYRES - DIRECTOR
PASSIONATE
At Zero Asbestos our last core value is
PASSIONATE. Passion is the fuel that
inspires us individually and collectively as
a team and drives our company forward.
The phrases “no” and “it can’t be done” are not in our vocabulary at Zero
Asbestos.
We believe that the relentless pursuit of
perfection in our business practices,
processes, our safety standards and
procedures will yield remarkable
outcomes for both our company and our
clients.
OUR FIERCE COMMITMENT TO
EXCELLENCE IS SHARED BY OUR
ZERO ASBESTOS TEAM
MEMBERS, BOTH IN THE OFFICE
AND OUT ON SITE AND IMPACTS
EVERY ASPECT OF OUR
COMPANY; FROM THE WAY WE
COMMUNICATE WITH OUR
CLIENTS, TO THE CARE AND
DILIGENCE WE PRACTISE IN
MANAGING THEIR JOBS
Passion and determination are
contagious. They’re what makes people take up causes, start movements and
change the world… like ridding it of asbestos. We believe that when you’re surrounded by people who share a
passionate commitment around a
common purpose, anything is possible
and that’s why PASSIONATE is one of our core values.

have on a workplace. Our contracts management team

INDUSTRIAL SERVICES
Zero Asbestos specialises in working with the
management and workplace safety teams of industrial
organisations in order to develop well planned
asbestos removal and remediation projects.
While this can take significantly longer than general
projects, it can typically be done with little to no
negative effect on the facility’s operating productivity.
In past projects we have developed individualized
project strategies and methods in order to work around
plant with zero risk to employees, contractors and Zero
Asbestos staff. This type of project requires substantial
planning, communication and attention to detail, all of
which are standard practice for Zero Asbestos.
CIVIL & CONTAMINATED LAND MANAGEMENT
At Zero Asbestos we recognise that a solid understanding of legislative requirements and immediate response is vital
when dealing with asbestos soil contamination, asbestos containing pits and asbestos pipes on any project.
When asbestos materials are identified during civil works, it can often cause the loss of significant time, money and
create the potential for asbestos exposure to staff and the public if it is not dealt with in a professional and timely
manner.
Zero Asbestos can respond in a timely manner to all asbestos identification and can assist in developing a comprehensive
site remediation plan. Generally, we can utilise a client’s plant and equipment to safely carry out our works, reducing costs and minimising downtime to any site works that have been put on hold. Zero Asbestos can manage any large or
small asbestos remediation project in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
PRE-DEMOLITION REMEDIATION

removal prior to the demolition of any structure.
We can rapidly deploy teams to any project on very short notice when asbestos needs to be removed within a limited
timeframe. We regularly assist our diverse range of clients with programming and planning of specific methodology for
the removal works, ensuring that all works are carried out in line with all regulatory requirements.
Zero Asbestos also provides assistance with remediation of asbestos in residential houses prior to demolition, ensuring
that the building has had all the asbestos removed prior to demolition works being undertaken.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
When an emergency asbestos situation occurs time can be of the essence. The quicker the asbestos emergency can be
attended to, the sooner the affected areas can be made safe again.
In these situations, Zero Asbestos can provide an immediate, effective and individualized response to any incident. Over

ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT PLANS
The Queensland Government defines an Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) as a
plan that “helps people with management and control of buildings and other relevant structures to prevent exposure to airborne asbestos fibres by their staff and site visitors. This person must take reasonable steps to label and record
asbestos in a register and inform everyone on the premises where asbestos is present, the consequences of exposure
to asbestos and other appropriate control measures.”
The Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) should set out clear aims, stating what is going to be done, when it is going to
be done, and how it is going to be done.
As part of safe asbestos management, any workplace built before 1989 is required by law to have an Asbestos Testing
Audit carried out; if asbestos is found or believed to be present then an Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) is legally
required.
For an Asbestos Testing Audit in Brisbane, on
the Sunshine Coast or anywhere else in
Queensland or Australia, there are many
points to cover, including -
• The date the asbestos was identified
• The type of asbestos product
• Whether the asbestos is friable or non-
friable (bonded)
• The location and condition of the
asbestos
• A timetable for action
• Training arrangements for those involved
An Asbestos Audit will NOT be required if -
• The workplace was built after December
31, 2003
• No asbestos is likely to be present
•
The laws surrounding auditing and asbestos
removal and disposal are very strict – and with
good reason. Asbestos poses a major threat to
health and safety, and to our environment.
METH LAB CLEAN-UP
Zero Asbestos offer effective and personalized service to assist in the cleanup and remediation of any property affected
by a meth lab.
Properties contaminated from former meth labs are showing up all across Australia. The chemical residues left behind
are toxic and can lead to serious and long lasting health effects and even death. Zero Asbestos are leaders in providing
laboratory analysis testing and meth lab cleaning services throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Our team of
Technicians is available to discuss any testing and cleanup services you may require.
Drug lab cleanup costs can be complex and can differ greatly depending on the property size, the nature and extent of
the decontamination required, the type of materials, and the method of manufacture. Zero Asbestos provide property
owners with both pre and post meth lab sample testing results. Pre sample testing can significantly reduce costs
associated with the remediation process by identifying the contaminated areas only.
At Zero Asbestos, our trained Technicians work to ensure the cleanup and remediation process is carried out discreetly
so as to not become a public spectacle. We strive to maintain a minimum level of interruption for our clients.
As a leading decontamination and remediation company, Zero Asbestos is backed by experience and expertise, with
trained Technicians who possess the skills to decontaminate and remediate any property or vehicle contaminated by
meth and onsite contamination caused by the production and by-chemical waste.
Our fast response time is a critical part of our business and the nature of the industry, not only from a health and safety
perspective, but also from an emotional perspective. Our Technicians are able to aid our clients by documenting our
work in reports that can be used to support any insurance claim.
Our growing team of experienced and trained remediation specialists service the whole of Australia and can provide
support and remediation services to all metro and regional areas.
