LMS selection processNeed for new Learning Management System.Used a Consultant to help facilitate process. Surveyed and met withstake-holders. Created a RFP-Request for Purchase.Selected Top 3 companies based of RFP score:BlackboardCanvasSchoology

Train the TrainerTISs and lead teachers (from selection committee) were selected as trainers.Select group attended Instructure Con in Park City Utah.Received 2 day on-site training by Canvas certified trainer on-site.Prior to school year, trainers created training courses for staff.

ImplementationPhase I (early adopters) 2012-13Collaborative work by Learning Services, IT and Canvas staff.Integration with Infinite Campus.Training for over 200 teachers performed by TIS and other lead teachers.System available on the first day of the 2012-2013 school year for classroom use.

Feedback High energy and interest from both students and teachers.Additional teachers requested access based on peer conversations.More than 15,000 (80%) students logged in an utilized some functionality.2012-13 school year an additional 450 teachers (650 total) have been trained and have access via building based and district trainings.
