All CKC Official Classes, Open Class (divided by colour), Baby Puppy Class (3 to 6 months), Veterans (7 to 10 yrs; 10+ yrs.), Award of Merit, Sexually Altered Classes, Stud Dog, Brood Bitch and Brace

Since the age of 8, I have always wanted to breed and show dogs, but it was not until my 20’s that I was able to begin this lifelong passion. I showed my first Sheltie in 1965 in Miami, Florida, and joined and later became president of the Greater Miami SSC while it was obtaining its license. Marriage, pursuing a Masters Degree, and a career in government took up a lot of my time and relocated me to Alabama, Nebraska, and finally to North Carolina. In about 2000, with retirement on the horizon, I was finally able to more fully devote resources to developing the Wistwin line I had dreamed of for so long.

I have bred and/or finished 49 AKC Champions (44 homebred) in all colors, and 5 Canadian Champions. As well, I have bred 10 agility champions and one obedience champion. I am proudest of my two ROM bitches, one of whom is a Grand Champion and won the ASSA Brood Bitch class. I am also very proud to be the breeder of the 2013 ASSA National Winners Dog, and the coowner of AKC GCh/Can Ch Dan Dee One From The Heart ROM (Ticker), who is sire of 24 AKC champions to date.Being chosen to judge the 2018 CSSA National Breed classes is a great honor. Nothing thrills me more than seeing and touching a stunning Sheltie, and I so look forward to this once-in-a-lifetime assignment.

Juvenile Sweepstakes, Veteran Sweepstakes and Junior Handling ConformationShelley McHugh-Boumans 18900 Simcoe Street, Seagrave ON L0C 1G0

I am very honored to have been chosen to judge puppy, veterans sweeps and Junior handling for the 2018 CSSA national. I feel very privileged to be able to judge the up and coming stars of tomorrow in a breed that I have been involved with since my teenage years. I was lucky enough to have been born into dogs. My parents, Betty and Bill McHugh bred Samoyeds and Miniature Longhaired and smooth Dachshunds under the Nepachee prefix. Mom made sure we had a solid foundation and we all had to put an obedience title on a dog before we were allowed to go any further. I finished many Nepachee dogs over the years and showed a number of her breeding to number one status in their breed. Probably the most notable was Am BIS Can BISS Am/Can Champion Nepachee the Maestro ML. Maestro and I spent many weekends together, and I was able to finish him in the U.S. with a BIS from the classes.

I dabbled in breeding and bred a few champions under my own kennel name Shelou. I am a Registered Pharmacy Technician by trade, that’s what pays the bills, but my passion has always been showing this very special breed,

I finished my very first champion when I was fourteen. She was a pretty blue bitch, in a time when it was tough to win with the AOC’s. I was hooked. I was lucky enough, shortly after to meet Daphne Allen of Candega fame and the rest is history. Daphne taught me so much about this breed. We travelled many miles together.

She took me to my first national. She took me on a road trip to Macdega Kennels , where I was lucky enough to help out with a Gulie Krook photo shoot. Tom and Nioma were the ultimate hosts, there was so much to see and learn for this 18 year old girl!!

I have always loved showing dogs. I piloted many Dachshunds, Samoyeds and shelties to top rankings over the years and finished well over a hundred Canadian and American Champions in a number of

It is an honour to be asked to judge your own breed at a national specialty.

I’ve been doing obedience, rally, agility and confirmation with my shelties for over 35 years. I have enjoyed judging in Canada,USA and Bermuda for the last 22 years.

Shelties are such a versatile little breed excelling in so many venues. I’ve been lucky to have trained 2 number 1 all breed obedience dogs in Canada and competed many times at nationals in agility.

With the help of some great handlers I finish my dogs in conformation also.

I look forward to judging some great shelties in obedience and rally.

Good luck to all the competitors at this years national specialty.
