TONIGHT’S STORYLINESThis is the first of two matchups between Calgary and Buffalo in 2016-17. The two clubs met twice in 2015-16 with each team winningthe home game. The Flames they have a 0-0-0-0 record versus the Eastern Conference this season and a 0-0-0-0 record against the Atlantic Division. GREAT START:Goaltender Chad Johnson made his Flames debut on Saturday night in Vancouver and picked up where he left off after a hot end tohis year in Buffalo in 2015-16. The 30-year-old stopped the first 25 shots fired at his net by the Canucks and allowed only one goal onthe 31 pucks he faced all night, which was good for a .968 save percentage. THE CENTURY CLUB:Flames forward Micheal Ferland skated in his 100th career NHL game on Saturday night against Vancouver. The 24-year-old wasCalgary’s fifth round draft pick (133rd overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft and he is just the second player selected by the Flames in the fifthround to reach the 100-game plateau for Calgary (also Willi Plett who played 452 games for the franchise from 1975-76 to 1981-82). “LONG HOME STAND”:A quirk of this year’s schedule is that Calgary does not have more than four consecutive games on home ice and none of those four-gamers take place until the end of February. Tonight starts a three-game stint at the Scotiabank Saddledome, which is the longeststreak for the Flames in the first month-and-a-half of the season. DID YOU KNOW?Brian Elliott and Chad Johnson are the first all-Canadian goaltending tandem for the Flames since Fred Brathwaite and MikeVernon in 2000-01. THIS DATE IN FLAMES HISTORY:Team Record for October 18th games: 7-11-0-0-0Most Recent Game on October 18th: October 18, 2011 CGY 2 vs. EDM 1Goals For: 45 Goals Against: 58This Date vs. Opp: These franchises have met once before on October 18th, Buffalo won 2-0 in 2003.This Month vs. Opp: These two teams have met 12 times in October and Calgary is 5-6-1-0-0 in those meetings. This Day of the Week vs. Opp: This is the 11th regular season meeting between these clubs on a Tuesday and the Flames have arecord of 4-5-1-0-0. HOW THE FLAMES WERE BUILT:Draft (9): Backlund, Bennett, Bouma, Brodie, Ferland, Gaudreau, Kulak, Monahan, TkachukFree Agents (7): Brouwer, Engelland, Frolik, Giordano, Grossmann, Johnson, VersteegTrade (8): Chiasson, Elliott, D. from March 18, 2000 to Nov. 23, 2001.

Matt Moulson enters tonight’s game with a point in each of his last four games dating back to last season and five goals in his last

eight games.
