SUMMER Vacation

Summer is meant for having fun... for girls and parents. Camp Four Echoes, our Girl Scout camp located at Lake Coeur d’Alene. This outdoor resident camp offers waterfront activities, hiking and amazing opportunities to explore nature. Camp Four Echoes is the perfect summer place for girls entering grades 1-12 in 2014. It is a safe, entertaining and outrageously fun place to spend the summer. Girls build friendships, learn new skills, create projects and get introduced to people, places and things that are new and exciting.

There are many different sessions for all age groups, including;

Girls entering grades 1-3 in fall 2014 Become a member for only $15

Discoverers- Discover Camp Four Echoes for the first time and be WOWED! Plan an adventure to hike, swim, learn about nature and dive into arts and crafts. Don’t forget about campfire songs and making new friends.Grades: 1-3 Fee: $165 (member) $195 (non-member)Week 1: June 25-27 Week 4a: July 13-15

Friendmakers- Making new friends is a part of camp that many girls cherish the most. Make a friendship bracelet, create a secret code, design stationary to keep in touch with your new friends. And earn the Making Friends badge.Grades:2-3 Fee: $265 (member) $295 (non-member)Week 2: June 29-July 3

Princess Passion- Camp is a dream come true! If you’ve daydreamed of being a princess, this is your week!  Help our Wood Fairy protect her kingdom with special craft projects and fairytales around the campfire.  Become royalty at camp and experience it as a princess in our Enchanted Forest. Grades: 2-3 Fee: $215 (member) $245 (non-member)Week 4b: July 15-18

Splish Splash- Let’s get wet! Swimming in the lake, paddle boating, and water balloons. You will be in the water every day. End your stay at camp with a luau at Smugglers beach. Invite other campers to join in the splish splash fun!Grades:2-3 Fee: $265 (member) $295 (non-member)Week 7: August 3-7

Adventurers- Map it out and discover a new adventure every day!  You plan your week...swimming, nature, crafts, s’mores, hiking to parts of camp that you have never seen before. It’s as much fun as taking a trip where every day reveals a new discovery. Fee: $165 (member) $195 (non-member)Week 1: June 25-27 Week 4a: July 13-15

Kaleidoscope- Create a new adventure every day: hike, canoe, sleep under the stars and learn about simple outdoor survival skills. Embrace the great outdoors and discover how to be in tune with and respect nature and the environment.  Fee: $265 (member) $295 (non-member)Week 2: June 29-July 3 Week 7: August 3-7

Mad Science- Gallons of green glowing liquids, strange objects flying through the air, messages written in secret code, mystery substances that change from solid to liquid in seconds... Mad Science summer camp is mind boggling! Fee: $265 (member) $295 (non-member)Week 2: June 29-July 3

Homesteaders- How people lived in the past depended a lot on where they lived.  Create a community from the past and find out about food gathering techniques, cooking style and how to survive when exploring the world and living off the land.  Prepare a traditional feast “pioneer” style-- bake bread over the campfire and make jam.  Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 3: July 6-11

Nightowls- Adjust your vision and hearing for moonlight camp adventures! Take an evening canoe trip to the marsh and hear a symphony of night dwelling wildlife.  Don’t forget your flashlight as you venture on a midnight “Cats Eye” hike through camp.  Wake up early and watch the sunrise.   Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 3: July 6-11

Discover the Marsh- Ever wondered how far back the marsh in Windy Bay goes? Spend a week at camp exploring the marsh by kayak and canoe.  How many species of wildlife can you find?  Have a mud fight or drift and daydream. Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 4a: July 13-18

Crafty Campers- Using nature as your inspiration, create an art gallery to share with others.  Your crafty imagination will create a work of art while you make new friends and learn techniques to live in the great outdoors. Fee: $215 (member) Fee: $245 (non-member)Week 4b: July 15-18

At Your Doorstep- With more than 200 acres to explore, you’ll discover parts of camp that you’ve never seen before! Learn new outdoor skills like how to pitch a tent, use a map and compass, purify water and how to be environmentally friendly.  Have fun with the basics too--hiking and camping in the backwoods of Camp Four Echoes.  Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 5: July 20-25

Jump in the Lake- Compete in sunken canoe races and play slippery watermelon.  Create water games and dive (in) for your lunch.  Learn different water safety techniques and survival skills for when you are in and around the water.  Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 5: July 20-25 Week 6: July 27-August 1

Spotlight’s On- Learn the basics skills of theater performing as you create masks, learn different character traits and play theater charades.  You’ll show your acting ability with skits performed in front of other campers. There’s still plenty of time for hiking, swimming and boating.   Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 6: July 27-August 1 Dip, Dip & Swing- Explore Windy Bay by canoe.  Prepare for and go on a two day canoe trip where you’ll learn to pack a canoe, build survival shelter and cook in the out of doors. Art to Wear- Decorate a t-shirt, make a bracelet...it’s all art you can wear!  Show off your unique sense of style by making and wearing your own creation.  Learn how to turn recyclables into accessories, like a duct tape wallet or paper beads.   Fee: $165 (member) $195 (non-member)Week 1: June 25-27

Pedals, Paddles & Perseverance- Enjoy the beauty of the northwest as you Bike the Hiawatha Trail, experience the excitement of rafting the Spokane River and hike the trails and be awed by the views at Schweitzer Mountain. Fee: $500 (member) $530 (non-member)Week 1: June 25-July 3

Nocturnals- Flip flop day and night and don’t forget your flashlight for those midnight hikes and evening boating.  Enjoy a midnight celebration, play “mission impossible” and watch the sunrise. Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 3: July 6-11

Canoe the Cd’A- Explore Windy Bay and more!  Prepare for and go on a three day canoe trip. Learn to pack a canoe, build a survival shelter and cook outdoors.  Can you make it to Harrison for ice cream?   Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 3: July 6-11

Just Chill- You have school, sports, clubs, lessons...you need a break!  Come to camp and just chill.  You and your friends will create your own camp schedule upon arrival at C4E.  You might decide to go hiking, spend time hanging out and playing games with your pals or just take some “me” time. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to just chill! Fee: $165 (member) $195 (non-member)Week 4a: July 13-15

Sails in the Wind- Ride the wind of Windy Bay.  Learn to balance on a board, rig sails and use the wind to your advantage as you try your hand at paddle boarding, windsurfing and sailing.   Fee: $500 (member) $530 (non-member)Week 4b: July 15-25

Teen J.A.M.- Teen July Adventure Madness is a choose your own adventure unit.  Plan and create the perfect active program and trip.  You’ll have a fun filled week trying a little bit of everything at Camp Four Echoes! Canoeing? Hiking? Swimming?  It’s all up to you!  You get to choose.  Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 5: July 20-25

Build them with the group, or on your own, and when you’re done, share your creations with everyone. Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 6: July 27-August 1

Spectrum- You’ll do all the planning as you learn to camp together with your new friends. Go for it! Hike, sing, stargaze, watch a sunset/ sunrise, sleep in a tent or a cozy cabin.  Have a fun filled week trying a little bit of everything at Camp Four Echoes.  Fee: $315 (member) $345 (non-member)Week 6: July 27-August 1

Everything H2O- If you love the water and want to jump into some fun, then Everything H2O is for you. Spend your time at camp boating, canoeing, swimming and diving for your lunch.  Fee: $265 (member) $295 (non-member)Week 7: August 3-7

Counselor in Training Programs Girls entering grades 9-12 in fall 2014 become a member for only $15

CIT A- In this first level of Counselor in Training, you will focus on leadership skills and outdoor skills needed to be a camp counselor. Discover and nurture your leadership qualities. Challenge yourself physically and mentally. You’ll have a few opportunities to lead activities with younger campers and shadow staff members. Fee: $500 (member) $530 (non-member)CIT July 15-25

CIT B- For the 2nd level of CIT, you’ll focus on skills needed to work with children at camp. Learn more about what to expect from campers, working as a team with staff and visiting another camp CIT program! Prerequisite: Successful completion of CIT A, Program Aide Training or its equivalent. Fee: $510 (member) $540 (non-member)CIT July 27-August 7

CIT C- Dig deeper into leadership and creating a safe community for campers. Spend time working side-by-side with camp staff. Take a fun offsite trip! Participants going into 12th grade who successfully complete this program may apply to be an Apprentice Counselor for the remainder of the summer. Prerequisite: Successful completion of CIT A & CIT B or their equivalent. Note: CITs will go home July 3-5 for the Independence Day holiday and return July 6. Fee: $520 (member) $550 (non-member)CIT June 25-July 11

Register for CampWHO: Open to all girls, ages 5-17WHAT: GSEWNI requests that all our campers are currently registered Girl Scouts. If you are not currently registered, please include a one-time $15 membership fee with your camp registration. You may opt to pay a $30 non-member fee for each sessionn if you do not wish to register as a Girl Scout.HOW: Register online at www.gsewni.org. If you do not have internet access, please pick up a registration form at our office, or phone us, to request to have a registration form mailed to you. Your completed form may be dropped off in person, or mailed.WHERE: Camp sessions are held at Camp Four Echoes, located at Windy Bay at Lake Coeur d’Alene, Worley, ID.FEES AND REFUND POLICIES: The balance is due the day the camp session starts. No refunds are available. Session fees are as noted for each normal camp session. Camp fees can be paid with Cookie Dough, cash, money order, VISA, MasterCard, or check made payable to GSEWNI. CAMPERSHIPS: Girl Scouts strives to make camp available to all girls, regardless of a family’s economic situation. If camp is not affordable for your family, please download a Campership Application from our web site, or request that an application be mailed to you.

Troop Camping open to all registered Girl Scout troopsEach troop is required to have appropriate girl:adult ratios and trainings.

Troop Camping 1– May 30-June 1, 2014  Fee: $25.00 per personEnjoy spring troop camping. Troops are responsible for most activity times and their own food.   Troops will have the opportunity to participate in all camp activities Saturday afternoon, an all camp campfire Saturday night, and a Scouts Own Sunday morning.  Check-in Friday between 5-7pm, Checkout Sunday at noon.  *Please note that you may be sharing the unit with another troop. Troop Camping 2 June 27-29, 2014   Tree house unit NOT available, being used by resident camp campersTroop Camping 3 July 18-20, 2014    Tree house unit NOT available, being used by resident camp campersTroop Camping 4 August 1-3, 2014   Fee: $75.00 per personEnjoy troop camping at C4E in the summer time.  All troop members will have swimming time, arts & crafts, hiking, and meals included. Check-in Friday between 5-7pm, Checkout Sunday at noon.  *Please note that you may be sharing the unit with another Girl Scout troop.**$25.00 deposit per person will save your spots.
