Byco and its associated entities have interests in the oil refining, petroleum marketing and chemical manufacturing in Pakistan:

SUPPLY CHAIN PROCESS (In general)

REFINING PROCESS:

Refining begins as simple distillation (by heating and separating), Generally, this latter effort minimizes the production of heavier, lower value products (for example, residual fuel oil, used to power large ocean-going ships) in favor of middle distillates (jet fuel, kerosene, home heating oil and diesel fuel) and lighter, higher value products (liquid petroleum gases (LPG), and gasoline)

STORAGE:

They have depots/terminals at kemari where oil is stored named Panama terminal, ATT (Al rahimTank Terminal trading co.), UTL and VTT at port Qasim. Only Universal Terminal Ltd (UTL) is a substitute company of Byco. But Byco is giving rent to all of them for storing oil.

THE ORDERING PROCESS:

The timing for booking orders is 6 to 9.

Call center place order at SAP and use ERP in all business functions.

After order is made the call-center gives a “specific number” to the customer or the retailer.

After receiving the reference number, the customer make the payment to any specific bank (i.e. HBL, Allied Bank)

The Bank then reports the transaction to the BYCO within 2 hours.

After receiving the payment the company fulfills the order or release within 24 hours.

Information Technology:

Byco uses a SAP, ERP based system, which makes it easier to deal with the customers. Facilitates in sharing information among different networks of the company. Which makes it easy to identify in case of any errors in any transanction.

LOGISTICS:

Byco Company has their containers at UTL (universal terminal ltd) and Hub refinery having the capacity of 16,000-60,000 liters. The other terminals which are mentioned above like Panama terminals ltd, ATT, VTT have their owned logistics for which Byco Company is giving rent. There are fixed supply points at which Byco containers reach with the delivery orders and there are agents of Byco who waits for the containers at supply points who are from Operation and Logistics departments and they also arrange for the containers. These people are there for security purpose and to report at the head office. When the container reaches at the particular supply points, they are being checked by the officers whether they are sealed or are there any other problems or not.
