Purpose

This project will exercise the skills and abilities learned from the Construction Engineering Technology program.

The apartment is a theoretical build, but all activities and documents will be done as if it were actually being built.

Pre-Design and Design Phase(First Semester Fall 2014)

The Building

Wood Framed Concrete Foundation

Estimated 3,826 sq. ft.

Estimated 957 sq. ft. for each unit.

The Roof Design

Gable Style Roof

6/12 roof pitch Simple design makes it cheap and easy to build.

Preliminary Drawings

Each building will have 4 units.▪ Three bedrooms▪ Two Bathrooms ▪ Kitchen▪ Utility ▪ Living and Dining Room

Two story layout.

A rough estimate was done to give an idea of the cost.

3,826 sq. ft. @ $80 sq. ft. = $306,080

Conclusions

The completion of the pre-design and design phase last semester will allow me to fully complete the pre-construction documents that will be done this semester.
