Welcome to the third edition of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators EOD Buyer’s Guide. It is our intent to continue to provide the EOD, Bomb Disposal

and Explosives Investigation Community with a single-point of reference where you can locate manufacturers and vendors of equipment to sup-port your missions.

We appreciate the support we have received in this endeavor from the manufacturers, the vendors and especially from the practitioners in the field. From the moment the first edition of the EOD Buyers Guide hit the street we have received tremendous positive feedback; therefore we will strive to keep this document updated often enough to maintain its value to you.

As I review the many products listed in this Guide it is really amazing to look at the advances in the amount and the quality of the technol-ogy available to our profession today. When you think back just 10 to 20 years ago and realize that the majority of equipment we used was begged, borrowed or fabricated by the member of your Squad who was most mechanically inclined and compare that with what is available today it is truly astounding.

When I assumed the position of International Director I said that it was my goal to follow the legacy of my predecessors and honor our past while embracing the future. This Guide certainly continues to show that the future of EOD and Bomb Disposal technology, much of which is directed at making the Technician or Operator safer, is exciting and continues to move forward.

I want to thank the manufacturers and vendors who create and distrib-ute the equipment that supports our profession, both for the equip-ment and for their continued support of the IABTI. Because of their support we are able to provide high quality training at our International and Regional Training Conferences at a reasonable cost. I also want to thank the hard working staff at the IABTI International Business Office (Mary, Karen Wende and Will) who put this Guide together while still taking care of all of the other duties of keeping our Association running.

I hope you find this Buyers Guide useful and, as always, if you see ways to improve it in the next edition do not hesitate to share your ideas with the IBO.

IABTI Scholarship / Benevolent Fund...The IABTI Fund was created to serve the long term

educational and benevolent interests of the bomb technician and investigator community by promoting explosives safety and awareness, education and benevolence through research, education and other constructive efforts. More specifically, the Fund encourages the inclusion of explosives instruction in security training curricula, promotes the collection of educational materials and information, provides scholarships and promotes forums and media through which the principles and techniques of explosives safety and security can be taught, reported, discussed and published. The Association is expanding its reference library and is exploring ways to display artifacts and share library materials.
