Block Assembly1. Place (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric F square on top of (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric R square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 1). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 1). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 2) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 2 ½” square to make (2) Unit 1 squares (Fig. 3). Repeat to make (8) Unit 1 squares total.

2. Repeat Step 1 and refer to Figures 4-18 for fabric identification and placement to make the indicated number of units for Unit 2 through Unit 16.

3. Sew (1) 2 ⅝” Fabric B square to the left side of (1) 2 ⅝” Fabric C square. Sew the resulting strip to the top of (1) 4 ¾” Fabric A square (Fig. 19).

4. Sew (1) 2 ⅝” Fabric E square to the left side of (1) 2 ⅝” Fabric D square. Sew the resulting strip to the bottom of the Fabric A square from Step 3 (Fig. 19).

5. Sew (1) 2 ⅝” x 4 ¾” Fabric B strip to the top of (1) 2 ⅝” x 4 ¾” Fabric E strip. Sew the resulting strip to the left side of the Fabric A square from Step 4 (Fig. 19).

6. Sew (1) 2 ⅝” x 4 ¾” Fabric C strip to the top of (1) 2 ⅝” x 4 ¾” Fabric D strip. Sew the resulting strip to the right side of the Fabric A square from Step 5 to make (1) Unit 17 square (Fig. 19).

SA19. Follow Figure 23 below and sew (14) assorted blocks together. Sew (1) 2 ½” Fabric R square to each end of the new strip to make the Top Border. Repeat to make the Bottom Border.

8. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about 1/8” outside the drawn lines.

9. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines.

10. Refer to Figure 20 to arrange and press the assorted petals, stems, leaves and centers onto (1) Unit 17 square.

11. Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to make (1) Unit 18 square (Fig. 20). 12. Repeat Steps 10-11 to make (4) Unit 18 squares total.

13. Sew (1) Unit 15 square, (1) Unit 14 square, (1) 1” x 2 ½” Fabric U strip, (1) Unit 13 square and (1) Unit 3 square together in that order. Sew the resulting strip to the left side of (1) Unit 18 square (Fig. 21).

14. Sew (1) Unit 5 square, (1) Unit 6 square, (1) 1” x 2 ½” Fabric U strip, (1) Unit 7 square and (1) Unit 8 square together in that order. Sew the resulting strip to the right side of (1) Unit 18 square from Step 13 (Fig. 21).

15. Sew (1) 2 ½” Fabric Q square, (1) Unit 1 square, (1) Unit 2 square, (1) 1” x 2 ½” Fabric U strip, (1) Unit 3 square, (1) Unit 4 square and (1) 2 ½” Fabric R square together in that order. Sew the resulting strip to the top of the Unit 18 square from Step 14.

16. Sew (1) 2 ½” Fabric A square, (1) Unit 12 square, (1) Unit 11 square, (1) 1” x 2 ½” Fabric U strip, (1) Unit 10 square, (1) Unit 9 square and (1) 2 ½” Fabric S square together in that order. Sew the resulting strip to the bottom of the Unit 18 square from Step 15 to make (1) Block One square (Fig. 21).

17. Repeat Steps 13-16 to make (4) Block One squares total.

18. Follow Figure 22 below and sew (14) assorted blocks together to make (1) Side Border. Repeat to make a second Side Border.

23. Sew (1) 1 ¼” x 27” Fabric A strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ¼” x 28 ½” Fabric A strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

24. Sew the Side, Top and Bottom Borders to the Center Block.

25. Sew (1) 1 ¼” x 32 ½” Fabric L strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ¼” x 34” Fabric L strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

26. Center (1) 6” x 49” Fabric V strip on (1) side of the Center Block and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼” from the top edge of the block and stop a ¼” from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side.

27. Repeat Step 26 to sew (1) 6” x 49” Fabric V strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the block. To miter

29. Layer and quilt as desired.

30. Sew the (5) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric H strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

31. Bind as desired.

28. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 24), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to make the quilt top

each corner, fold the Center Block on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 24).
