  • Sunday April 13 ~ Passion Sunday Scripture I set my face like flint, knowing that I shall not

be put to shame. (Isaiah 50:7) many dogs surround me, a pack of evildoers

closes in upon me; They have pierced my hands and my feet; I can count all my bones. (Psalm 22:17,18)

he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. (Philippians 2:7,8)

Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:28)

Reflection What changed your life in your Lenten journey? Is there a burden that Jesus may take from

you? Is there a forgiveness that you seek? How do you enter into the Lords suffering and

death? Vision yourself as a disciple of Jesus receiving

the cup and drinking from it. What happens now?

God has created me to do Him some definite ser-vice: He has committed some work to me that he has not committed to another. I have my mission I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told of it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of con-nection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good. I shall do his work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it, if I but keep His commandments. Therefore I will trust in God.1

A Vocation View: Todays world is so filled with suffering, injustice, anger, depression and loneli-ness that it cries for people waving palm branches of hope and resurrection, proclaiming new life.

Volunteers for Temporary Assignment As Crossing Guard for Construction

We are looking for Volunteers to man the gate to our construction site as an extra precautionary measure to en-

sure that children are not at risk of injury by con-struction vehicles. The Crossing Guard will need to oversee pedestri-an traffic at the at the entranceway to the Church construction site from Mountain Rd on weekdays until June 27th, 2014 when School is dismissed for summer vacation. Crossing Guard responsibilities will involve wearing a Crossing Guard Vest, using a stop sign and escorting school children safely past the entrance way of St. Helen Church construction site. There are 3 shifts to cover each day - the morning shift 8:00 - 9:00 a.m., lunch shift 11:32 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. and after school 2:50 - 3:50 pm. The vests and the signs will be kept at St. Mark School, so they can be picked up or dropped off there. Please contact the parish office by phone or email if you would like to volunteer and specify morning, noon or afternoon and dates you are available (Monday thru Friday) so that we can make up a schedule.

Holy Land Collection - Good Friday This annual Good Friday appeal dates back to 1421 and the pontificate of Pope Martin V, to recognize the grave responsibility Catholics throughout the world have to support Christians in the Holy Land, the birthplace of Christianity, with prayers and ma-terial help. Funds are used for the upkeep of the sanctuaries and to help with Pastoral work, Catholic Schools and social assistance in the Holy Land. Thank you for your support.
