How to Create a Prezi Click the new Prezi frame

in the middle of the screen. You can choose a template

if you wish. It is probably a good idea to use a template if you are new to Prezi.

Adding Text/Images

If you chose a template, several frames containing text boxes will be provided for you.

If you need more frames, use the add frame button.

To add more text, just click and start typing anywhere.

We can also add images using the insert button at the top of the screen.

Setting a Path Finally, we set our path

through the Prezi.

The left side of the screen displays the current path.

To change the order, just click and drag the slides.

To add a frame to the path, use the add frame button, place and size it, then right click and choose add frame.

Presenting Using Prezi You can click Present in the upper right corner at any

time to see what your Prezi looks like so far.

Click the X in the upper right corner to save and close your Prezi. The next time you sign in, it will be listed with your other Prezis.

If you want to download a back up copy, click download on the page you see after clicking the X.

Pros and Cons OverviewOverall Prezi has some very nice features that allow for more dynamic and spontaneous knowledge sharing in an interactive environment, but for a self-paced online class or similar medium a more simple and popular format such as PowerPoint may be beneficial due to the steep learning curve and the inherent limitations of editing images and text formatting within Prezi.

Prezi Pros and ConsPros Cons

Online content (Prezis) can be always available and dynamic

Non-linear presentation format allows for logical links between topics to be visualized more easily

Because of the non-linear format, presenting material can be more spontaneous and interactive, as the presenter is not forced to follow a specific order

The UI is not seen as friendly for development of instructional presentations

Limited image editing and color selections for text

Prezi has a steep learning curve compared to competitive products such as PowerPoint

As a direct comparison to PowerPoint, it has been seen as encouraging changing presentation format rather than content without improving either

If too extreme the constant zooming and panning can lead to a feeling of motion sickness in the audience. Also not able to manage transition speed to minimize the effect

Creating handouts or offline material requires an upgraded license, which has an annual subscription cost

Tips And Best Practices For Using Prezi Choose your design theme early.

Design big and use changes of scale.

Design to minimize fast motion.

Consider Your "Content" The message & structure are key considerations when

building your Prezi.

Break up your information into key talking points.

Create A "Blueprint" Sketch a basic outline or rough draft before building

your presentation to make it easier.

The best presentations are well organized from the start.
