At the Brooklyn Business Expo, companies across the board will network, share ideas, and meet new clients. The sponsors and attendees will range from entrepreneurs and small business owners to big, household names.

The biggest might be Disney. The Disney Vacation Club - a

timeshare-style program offering vacation destinations all over the world - is one of the sponsors for the September 15th event.

The Disney Vacation Club, which has gained over 450,000 members since its establishment in 1991, works on a vacation point system. Member families get a certain allotment of vacation points every year, and are able to customize their vacations as needed.

While the company will not be conducting any of the seminars planned for the day, it sees the expo as a great networking opportunity.

“It’s a way of introducing ourselves and being a part of the community,” said Kristin Beltz, public relations manager for the Florida-based company.

This isn’t the only way the Disney Vacation Club has reached out to New Yorkers. Their Doorway to Dreams store at the Roosevelt Field Mall is a place for families to take a closer look at Disney vacation packages.

But for Disney and other companies, the Brooklyn Business Expo will be a solid day of talking to

prospective clients - in addition to making new business connections.

“Our goal is to try to get a blend of large and small businesses so that people have a reason to be there,” said Mark Neuwirt, the

event organizer and founder of Expos Your Business, a company geared towards coordinating real-life business networking.

The first Brooklyn Business Expo was in March; this one

will feature more businesses and entrepreneurs, with a larger sponsor base. There will be public workshops and business-related seminars for visitors throughout the day.

Page 8: Brooklyn Business Expo

Walter Sanchez, editor and pub-lisher of the Brooklyn Star/Queens Ledger Newspaper Group has de-signed a program of speakers for the business seminar at the Brook-lyn Business Expo. “When we at the Brooklyn Star partnered with Mark and the Brooklyn Business Expo on the seminar portion of the Expo,” said Mr. Sanchez, “we want-ed to bring a sense of excitement and entertainment to the event. Prizes and gifts will be given out while participants will also learn a great deal just sitting and listening to a few dozen experts in their pro-spective fields in business.”

According to Sanchez, commu-nity newspapers do, indeed have a wealth of business clients and con-tacts who are experts in their fields. Their editors and reporters come into contact with dozens of mov-ers & shakers in Brooklyn who are sure to add to your day. The EXPO staff has set aside time for ques-tions at the seminars and each of the speakers will also be on hand throughout the day at a set of ta-bles for speakers. They can answer questions from participants in a private setting.

The schedule of speakers is as fol-lows:
